DVRed the game on NFL Network. I'm excited about the LB corps despite Urlacher not wrapping up on some tackles. Pisa really flies around out there...Briggs is still awesome 8-)

I wish the Giants had thrown some more. Couldn't really tell much about the starting secondary last night, outside of Payne breaking that one up.

It's always hard to tell how the secondary does on the regular broadcast but I thought they looked decent. Manning had to check down a lot and the DBs were always right there to wrap them up quickly.

Yeah....Vasher didn't look terrible, which is improvement.

hahaha my god that can't be real

its time to cut him loose. he's got all the talent in the world but you can't keep paying a guy to rehab injuries every year.

sucks though, him and tommie harris both healthy for a full season would be nasty

Sounds like Dusty might be through with the Bears. Fourth straight yr ended because of injuries.

Can't help but feel sorry for the guy. I don't know if it's bad luck or if he puts himself in position to get hurt. But I know I would be devastated if I saw my dream ending the same way every single season.

Good luck to Dusty in whatever he does next in his life. I honestly don't know if he will ever suit up on a football field again.

Certainly not for the Bears. Mike Brown got 4 chances at coming back from injury and he was a Pro Bowl guy. If the Bears let Dusty try again, it'd be his 5th chance.

Hard to think anyone will give him a chance. 13 games in 4 years. A team would be giving him a chance without seeing him play for almost 2 years.

Cutler knows a mental challenge of another extreme is coming next Sunday when he returns to Invesco Field at Mile High. The football messiah becomes Lucifer.

Can he imagine the reaction he will receive the moment he's spotted walking out from the visitors tunnel?

"I would probably say, poor," he said. "And rightfully so. It was a tough deal that both parties went through. Anytime you trade a player to somebody else and you go back to play there, the reaction is usually pretty negative. I'm expecting it."

When he first arrived in Chicago, Cutler's social life made all the papers and filled cyberspace. As Cutler left the field after the team's last serious practice of training camp last week, he was asked what he would be doing with his Monday nights now that Chicago is home. Tuesday is an off day for NFL players, so their Mondays are what Fridays are to everybody else.

"Nothing," Cutler said, smiling. "It's too crazy around here. You go out and everybody knows it."

My buddy just called me. His uncle who lives in GB just scored us 2 tickets to the Bears-Packers game on Sept. 13. I've never been to Lambeau before and between that and the prospect of being there for Cutler's first game, I'm too excited to sleep.

As Hall7810 mention, it sounds like Dusty may not be done yet. So who knows....

Now we officially know what it will take to re-sign Cutler long-term.

I'll be shocked if Cutler doesn't get a $100 million deal.

I thought he was a $100M man before. Now, it's all but a guarantee.

When Jay Cutler writes his autobiography, about 1/2 the book should be dedicated to the year 2009. He might have increased his future wealth by about 25-30 Mil. Instead of looking at another sub .500 record and doing too much for a really bad team, he gets traded to a team that he could lead deep into the playoffs. If he stayed in Denver, he might have been looking at a 70-75 Mil contract. As a Bear, he's got 100 Mil waiting for him.

I really don't think the move to the Bears will make all that much difference. If he stayed in Denver and had a similar season in 2009 he was going to get a market rate contract. He might wind up making more if he turns into a super bowl winning and/or HOF caliber QB in Chicago rather than Denver, based on other sources of income, but not football contract. Then again, it's not like Elway lacked for outside revenue sources.

If Cutler were to keep up the same pace as he had last season (which is probably a stretch), he would have the most passing yards in Bears history after Game 4 of his 4th season with the Bears.

Not that that alone makes him a HOF QB...but it was an interesting tidbit I read somewhere.

During Jay Cutler's first week of practice as the Bears' new quarterback, a rookie wide receiver dared to shag a few of his passes with just one hand. And even though this rookie, third-round pick Juaquin Iglesias, had been lectured a few times by coaches about the importance of proper technique, he was slow to break his annoying little habit. So when it happened again one afternoon, Cutler followed his pass upfield, darted toward Iglesias and screamed into his face mask: "If you ever do that again I will never throw another f--ing pass to you. EVER!"

I love this

Jay Cutler is on his way to being my favorite Bears. He's already the best player, but I'm starting to love this guy.

If you don't have Insider, I'd recommend picking up the magazine and reading the article. It's pretty good.

It does make a few negative points regarding him... Still a very interesting read, though.
