For anyone who can't hear Brenly, he's on a roll right now. He's basically calling out this team for a lack of intensity and fire. He said it's happened far too often this year. I really do like Brenly.

I've really grown to appreciate him too. I wonder if Brenly's going to get jumped by anyone on the team.

You'd really have to wonder if he would get a chance to manage the team is Lou retires, which I fully expect him to do. The Cubs are a reflection of him right now. He seems very matter of fact this year and so does this team. Injuries aside, they have looked like a mediocre team all year long.

I want Bob to stay in the booth. Give the job to Trammel if they want to stay in house. If not there are other guys out there who Id take. At this point, Id throw a bucket full of money at Larussa, ever though I hate the bastard, but his teams sure as hell dont underperform like this.

I hear Bobby Valentine wants to come back to our side of the pond after this season.

This really isn't Lou's fault. Blame the architect of the team.

They all hold blame, and Lou is the one who immediately started on the whole"get more left handed" thing. The players have definately underperformed, but Lou has underperformed as well in my opinion.

But Hendry was the one that ran with it and made the personnel moves.

I think an organization needs to have it's manager and it's GM on the same page or the on-field product will suffer. However, there is a limit to it, and Hendry gives his managers way too much say in which players stay and which ones go. Lou should have some say, but not nearly as much as he does.

That could happen as well. It just seems like Bob REALLY knows the game and he's NOT affraid to call players out. We'll see but Lou is done and it couldn't be more obvious. Not only does he look defeated, he has know idea what he's doing out there. He might be the worst in game manager in the bigs right now.

If the Cubs don't make the post-season, I think Lou will hang it up.

Hendry is the one I want canned no matter what.

I think he'll privately ask what sort of offseason plan jim has and what sort of resourses they have to achieve the plan and decide from there. Those that want Lou gone remember that the Cubs brass love Lou and that love and desire to stay might be the biggest motivation the Cubs have to make big changes otherwise they might stick with the injuries/few pieces away mantra (even tho the reason is they have tooany awful long term no trade contracts that were given out by Hendry.)

I don't agree, but these guys need to be kicked in the ass, and hard. Lou used to be the guy to do that. Maybe he's mellowed a bit with age, but someone needs to knock some heads together and either start benching or fining guys for stupid play. Lou isn't that guy anymore.

I want Bob to stay in the booth. Give the job to Trammel if they want to stay in house. If not there are other guys out there who Id take. At this point, Id throw a bucket full of money at Larussa, ever though I hate the bastard, but his teams sure as hell dont underperform like this.

Wow, I hope you aren't serious.

About Lou? Yes, I am.

You know people like Dusty Baker and Jim Riggleman have manager jobs right now right?

On crapola teams. Those teams combined don't have the payroll we have. Dusty is bad, so is Riggs, but Lou is right up there. Have you not seen the man manage this year? Leaving pitchers into hit only to go to the pen right after the inning is one of many idiotic moves I can think of.
