Albert Pujols this year has had 9 ABs with the bases loaded.

 

He has 7 hits.

 

5 of those hits were home runs.

Pujols is now 7-for-9 with five home runs and 24 RBI with the bases loaded this season. Surprisingly, he has been doing his damage early in the count or when behind (he is 6-for-6 with four homers when the situation is either first pitch or pitcher ahead in the count). More amazingly, perhaps: He's taken 20 swings with the bases loaded and hit five home runs with only two swing-and-misses. He's 2.5 times more likely to hit a HR than to swing and miss.

I really hope either a.) he isn't on the list from 2003 and never took PEDs, or b.) he is smart enough to NEVER EVER get caught.

I think most people are waiting for the "other show to drop" on Pujols. I hate to say it, but nobody is above suspicion and THAT includes Pujols.

 

With that said, until proven otherwise Pujols (when not facing the Cubs) and Joe Mauer are my two of the hitters I enjoy watching hit.
