Why was Z scratched from his start?

Still hurting from last game.

Now that Z appears more hurt than the Cubs thought/let on how dumb was it to suggest that Z was going to pitch out of the pen last week?

Gee, a Cubs pitcher more hurt than the organization first implied?

That's never happened before.

We got about a week of decent Soriano.

Are you serious? Were you in a coma for the other couple of weeks?

It sure didn't even out his slump like it normally does.

Wait, what? He slumped for almost two months. You really expected him to go on a two month hot streak?

I figured he would at least return to his norm. I don't think he is a sub .800 ops player.

We got about a week of decent Soriano. Maybe this just isn't our year.

Doesn't feel like it when whenever a player goes off the DL another player gets hurt within 2 days.

Assume Z goes on the DL from this. Our 25 man roster, didn't go to the DL list looks like: Hill, Heilman, Fontenot, Theriot, Fukudome, Gregg, MArshall, Soriano (?)

Lee hasn't been on the DL. He's been off and on a few times, but no DL i don't think.

SEVEN total pitches that inning. How does this happen so often from a team that was so much more patient last year?

It seemed to me like the whole organization decided that last year wasn't worth it because of 3 games against L.A. Had to change everything up.

I wonder what Hendry's asinine philosophy will be this offseason. Let's see, so far we've had...

--Guys who can catch the ball

--The extreme need for a leadoff hitter no matter the cost

-- The need to get more left-handed

None of these so-called "team philosophies" have ever lasted more than a season, and are completely forgotten about by the time the next one enters his hollow head.

...

This is basically his norm. He's great for 2 weeks: he stinks for 2 weeks.
