Nationals released outfielder Corey Patterson.

Patterson was 2-for-15 with six strikeouts in an earlier stint with the Nationals this season. He hit .274/.318/.422 in 283 plate appearances for Triple-A Syracuse. Patterson will likely latch on with another organization's Triple-A affiliate.

Be interesting to see where he ends up. Even considering his absolutely abysmal AAA numbers this season, he could make sense for a contender as strictly a defensive replacement/pinch runner type. He should never again be allowed to swing a bat in the major leagues, however.

Potential - He's just waiting for the right time to bust out

Attitude - What a great clubhouse influence

Tools - More tools than Marrioti family reunion

Teamwork - Always going the extra mile for his teammates

E - Won't see any of these with him in Center field

Return - We'd all love to see his triumphant return to the top of our lineup

Speed - it'll never slump, especially if its never on base

Orangutan - I dunno, I couldn't really think of one for O

Northside - its where Corey belongs

Offense - It's the part of his game that should be well rested since he hasn't used it the past few years

So when will you, eh...I mean Cubs'n'clippers be here to defend his tools?

You know he is a "five tool guy"

Guess that means wrench, hammer, screw driver, bar clamp and a miter saw

According to rotoworld, he signed a minor league deal with the Brewers.

Obligatory "how many game-winners will he hit against the Cubs?" post.

Well the Brewers current RF is Bill Hall, so maybe Corey will get a chance to destroy a 3rd NL Central team.

Well?

I thought he was already planning his retirement. Read somewhere he's starting a dairy farm in Georgia, so he must still have most of his money.
