“I thought it was a strike,” Hawkins said. “And I told (Everitt), ‘Come on, I need that pitch.’ He don’t need any help.’ He said, ‘Knock it off.’ I waved him off, and he threw me out of the game. Maybe he was having a bad day. I thought he had determined who he wanted to win the game anyway.”

Hysterical considering Hawkins left and was replaced by a much better pitcher who has owned us of late. He's just bitter b/c he rightfully harassed his butt out of town. Playing the race card etc..no we didn't like you because you aren't very good at baseball.

Somebody call the waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahmbulance.

Hopefully Selig read his quote and a suspension or fine is in order for questioning the integrity of an umpire.

I don't think it's fair to say he's not very good at baseball, not even when he was with the Cubs.

That's fair. I should have said he's bad at being a closer. He was fairly decent as a 7th/8th guy

But can't argue that he is a DBag for sure

I'll argue against him being a dbag. I consider him very similar to Milton Bradley. Sensitive guys with a small persecution complex who want nothing more than to win every time they go out there. Off the field, and in the clubhouse, adored by their teammates and are intelligent people.

That graphic is awesome.

Who is the batter in there, it's hard to make out the last name. I've been wondering that all morning. Looks like it says P. Reese.

I was wondering the same thing. Makes me laugh every time.

Latroy is just pissy because he has shingles. Rotoworld:

Astros placed RHP LaTroy Hawkins on the disabled list with shingles.

Hawkins underwent an MRI on Monday that came back negative, but is still dealing with discomfort in his back and probably wouldn't be available for the next couple of days. At his age, it makes sense to just give him two weeks off. The right-hander should be ready by mid-August.

He'll definitely get fined a small amount for saying that the ump already had the outcome determined.

Asked about the comment before Tuesday's game, Everitt told the Tribune: "It's under investigation [by MLB], and we have no comment."

Asked by Houston reporters whether he regretted the remark, Hawkins replied: "Why would I?"

Hawkins said he had not heard from MLB, but added: "I'm fighting" any disciplinary action.

"I have my own opinion, and he had his opinion," he said. "He thought I was showing him up. I saw [ Alex Rodriguez] do way worse [when I was in the American League]. He undressed the umpire. Whatever he said, it was in his face. It's America, dude."

Oh please, keep going down this road, Latroy.
