I'm fine with not pinch hitting there. It's still really early and you don't want to burn your entire bench now. If you can't score a few more on the Astros pen when they have to pitch 5 more innings you don't deserve the game anyways.

Are you kidding Lou?

I am in favor of Lou's move. I have a hell alot more confidence in Johnson than Fontinot.

I just dont like using 2 bench guys in the 4th inning. I would have ph Baker so you only use 1

I would have more confidence on Johnson than I would in Baker, regardless.

Baker is a career 900 OPS vs Leftys.

Don't blame Lou for not going to a PH there. We don't have an off-day until August 6th and last night was a long night for the bullpen. We got ourselves a ballgame though. Shutdown inning here is a must.

I know stats aren't kept on this sort of thing, but I'd like to see the rate in which Cubs opponents score a run in their next AB after a multiple-run inning.

I'm more concerned about this year than career.

This year, Baker is OPS'ing .773 against leftys.

Johnson is OPS'ing .814 against leftys.

Dempster is like a 5-inning version of 2008 Bob Howry tonight. No wonder Lou can't help but keep him in there.
