yeah, unless i see evidence to the contrary, don mossi will forever be the ugliest man to play major league baseball. he was even legendary for his ugliness during his playing days.

Don Mossi had two careers, one as a reliever an one as a starter, and he was pretty darned good at both. No one who saw him play remembers that, because Mossi's ears looked as if they had been borrowed from a much larger species, and reattached without proper supervision. His nose was crooked, his eyes were in the wrong place... he looked like Gary Gaetti escaping from Devil's Island. One of the problems with choosing the ugliest and handsomest players is that a player who looks short of grotesque in one pose or one photograph will look fine in another. Susie, showed me a picture of Hoyt Wilhelm in which he looked positively handsome. I assured her it was just a bad shot.

You never had this problem with Don Mossi. Don Mossi was the complete five-tool ugly player. He could run ugly, hit ugly, throw ugly, field ugly, and ugly for power. He was ugly to all fields. He could ugly behind the runner as well as anybody, and you talk about pressure... man, you never saw a player who was uglier the in clutch.

Gaetti was hideous too.

I'm sure this has been discussed....but Bradley is getting on at a .443 clip this month...that's a pretty darn good rate

Dickerson does have a .365 OBP, so its not awful. Tavaras has like a .280 OBP though. But he's fast dude.

his OBP is decent, but his SLG is lower than his OBP. Not quite as bad as his Taveras/Hairston 1/2, but pretty bad

Koyie Hill sucks. Dammit, what is it going to take for Fox to get a start behind the plate?

While I agree Im not sure the Reds are a team Id want Fox back there against. Dickerson, Taveras, and Phillips would run wild more than likely. I just cant believe they Cubs have stuck with only 1 catcher for this long, and Lou was quoted saying Soto wont be back till 1st of Aug. We are getting ready to start a 30 games in 31 days stretch, and we have 1 catcher. Its absurd
