Jack Wilson?

If the Jays unload Halladay I've got to think that Marco Scuttaro becomes an option

if people think theriot is lousy defensively at SS, wait til they get a load of scutaro there.

Yeah but his offensemight make the teams good enough that we can overlook it again.

I think fixing the black hole of offense at second is more important than SS defense right now. I'm ok with having a Theriot level defensive SS. I haven't seen Scutaro play enough to be able to actually comment on his defensive abilities, so I will defer to those who are more SABR inclined or have seen him play.

his career line is .264/.334/.383/.716... that kinda sucks.

Hasn't he been much better the past couple of years though?

It's nice to have one day every once in a while where it all works as it should

Imagine a hitting line-up of:

Fuku

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Bradley

Soriano

Soto

Fontenot (or another 2B)

Pitcher

all at their full health. That's pure ownage.

The thinking would be to look for a decent hitting SS and then move Theriot to second. It would allow us to widen what we're looking for and not be forced to only look at second basemen.

Precisely, I was responding to the objection over Scutaro's defense. I'll take Theriot at second with Marco's production at SS of .284/.382/.414/.795 and a slightly above average OPS+ of 111 this year over whatever production the second base platoon has produced this year.
