Cubs Gamethread: Packing my bags Edition

Hey folks! With islandcub MIA I'll be going a turn early. I've only got two starts in me at the moment as I'm leaving the country for a year on Saturday night, so here's hoping I retire undefeated on the season.

The Cubs are an astounding 2.5 out of first and again at the .500 mark at 38-38. They could somehow be 1.5 out by the end of today which I really don't understand at all.

The pitching match-up today is in our beloved Cubs' favor as we have that useless schmuck Suppan going up against the ever-awesome Carlos Zambrano.

Was just listening to ESPN 1000 in my car. They didn't give the full lineup, but said Soriano was back in LF and leadoff. No Fuld in the lineup. Fukudome in CF batting 6th and Bradley in RF batting 4th.

FWIW, I'd rather have Hoffpauir out in left rather than Fuld (that is, after Fuld's little hot streak is over).

CUBS have put up back to back games with double digit hits for the seventh time this year. You have to go back to Aug '08 for the last time they had 3 consecutive games with double digit hits. In 2 starts against Suppan this year, the CUBS have put up hit totals of 5 & 9.

So if Soriano is hitting leadoff that automatically means nobody will ever be on base for anyone else? What is he doing, losing the bat off of a swing and taking out the whole dugout?
