Marmol got so close there to having 4 outings in a row without a walk. I would have been his longest streak of the season in that department.

 

There was no reason to keep throwing Fielder breakin balls right there. Just thrown him a fastball and challenge him to hit it

This could just be me, but does Marmol fall in love with his breaking stuff and get into trouble with it? Farnsworth used to do the same thing with that damn slider of his.

So even if he hits it big deal, much rather he do that than just give him a free pass.

But at least things were down and not off the plate never starting in the zone.

Im feeling good about his stuff again.

man that grand slam is still unbelievable.

 

That was one of those pitches where you knew it was gone right when it left his hand. A 3-1 fastball with the bases loaded to a hot hitter usually doesn't end well.
