Im just going to throw this out there: Micah Hoffpauir for Felipe Lopez. Not a ground breaking deal, but it could fill a hole for both teams.

I don't like this at all. Why trade your team HR/AB leader for mediocre talent? At least package him for something bigger.

Problem with Hoff is, when Aramis returns and interleague comes to an end, Hoff and Fox are both going to be difficult to work into the lineup. As I said erlier, if they do Soriano to 2nd and Fox to left, with Hoff occasioanlly fillinf in at LF, RF, and 1B that solves part of it, but I doubt that will happen.

Why don't we just move our .237 RF? Oh wait, locked in for two and a half more years. Well, there's always our .228 hitting LF batting leadoff with a .298 OBP. We can move him, right? Oh.... locked in for the next five years you say? Darn. Well ,can we move our horribly slumping CF? Ah...ok. We're stuck with him for two more years.

So what's a team to do with young(ish), promising cheap talent?

At some point, Hendry is going to have to start eating some contracts big time. We've got $40,000 rims on a Yugo with 300,000 miles.

what about asking the Pirates if Freddie Sanchez is available. He could take over for 2B or 3B. and hes got a decent avg and gets on base. decent speed. I think he'd be a good addition, and probably not expense. Money wise or trade wise

So how many times over the next week, as we await Ramirez's return, will we hear getting him back is just like making a big time trade at the deadline?

So if we are looking for offense, The only places I can see an upgrade are 2nd or SS and move Theriot to 2nd. Theres Cantu and Uggla, but Florida is know to overprice guys. With any other team, I bet the Brewers would trade JJ Hardy for a pitcher like Marshall or Wells, but they have no interest in helping us any more than we do in helping them. Theres always the pipe dream of moving Soriano to 2nd and getting Holliday, but thers the questions of how much damage does Soriano do there, how much do we give up for a few months ofHolliday in prospects, and can we afford him monetarily. I suppose the Pirates are trading everything thats not nailed down, so Freddy Sanchez would be a good pickup, as would Teahen from KC.

In the end, any of these guys would be nice additions, but I cant seem any of them, aside from maybe Holliday being the type of players that can turn this ship around.
