Looking over some numbers to further depress myself and I noticed that not one Cub player is on pace to have more than 76 RBIs. Soriano leads the team with 27 through 58 games. When was the last time a team didn't have anyone with more than 76 RBIs and didn't trade away a player to achieve that?

 

 

The Cubs have only had one consistent 100 rbi guy the last several years, so it's not that surprising IMHO. Last year, DeRosa and Edmonds made up for it in a big way.

 

This offense just lacks consistent hitting talent.
