ooh, any relation to steve?

Yes, his son.

That's right, it's Steve's son and the kid can throw. He's not a real big right-hander, but he's got good stuff with a low-90s fastball, and his breaking ball, a hard power curve, is a serious out pitch. He's also got a changeup and he's a real strike-thrower, learning how to do things the right way from his dad.

they'll screw that up

Felix Hernandez helped us out today. It looks like we nailed down the 15th overall choice. Therefore our 1st round pick should be protected......

At least the Cubs did something right this season.

We definitely did. As the only 83 win team, there are no tiebreakers involved. We had the 16th best (15 worst) record in baseball.

Andy Seiler, who seems to have a pretty good handle on the MLB Draft based on his postings on Sickels' site and on his own blog, just posted his first 2010 Mock Draft.

16. Chicago Cubs – Stetson Allie, RHP, St. Edwards HS (OH) – Some scouts see Allie as a third base prospect, but his arm is just too good to pass up. Remember how we thought Shelby Miller had the best pure arm a year ago? Allie’s is better. Remember how Madison Younginer got hype because of his closer role and plus fastball? Allie’s better. He already touches 99 with his fastball, has a slider in the upper-80s, and could be the best pure arm from high school in quite awhile. The problem is that he might just be a reliever, as he has a high-effort delivery. The Cubs seem to like these kind of cases, so this seems like a solid fit.

Don't quite agree with his interpretation of the Cubs' drafting philosophy, but hey, it's early.
