Dotel or Jenks?

Just saw in SunTimes that if the White Sox don't get it turned around - they might be dealing Dye/Jenks/Dotel.

 

What would it take to get Jenks/Dotel to help the bullpen?

With finite resources likely, I think getting a bat is much more important than a "closer". I mean Gregg has only had 12 save opps all year, good for 21st most in MLB. The offense screws us over almost every game.

Absolutely. The only relievers worth allocating the limited resources toward are the elite ones who won't be available. They need to score runs.

the bullpen still is a big concern, especially considering we're now relying on guzman staying healthy and marmol has been a mess

 

but like i said, where are we going to upgrade? the only position we could upgrade permanently is second base. even if we did upgrade, the best we'd probably be able to get is a mark derosa type, not an impact guy like chase utley. the offense is going to rely on the guys we currently have. they have to hit or we're screwed.

 

so yeah, i don't see the problem with going after a good reliever since it seems highly unlikely that we're going to be making a trade for an impact bat. there's just nowhere to put it
