So does McCann go deep here or does he go deep?

Gregg actually tends to wait until there's 2 outs to blow it. I'm calling a Prado walk followed by a 600 foot Francoer homerun on a fastball that he shouldn't see.

I don't even think Francoeur was even still in the game at that point.

While the game is over, I am still going to point out that if Francoeur homered, there would be something illegal going on in this game, since he was pulled for a PR.

Since mid May, Hoff has an OPS under .700. He's been very cold the last few weeks.

He has had few at bats and was given quick runs against premiere SP.

Hoff seems to have a knack for big RBI's, something this team lacks.

He's been pretty good with 2 outs and RISP, but his numbers from the 7th on are not very good at all... and they get progressively worse the closer the game gets.

edit:

I don't mean to imply that he wont hit in "clutch" situations, or to even rag on Hoff at all. I'm just debunking silly statements.

Wow. A gutsy win. Nicely done, Cobs.

Better win the series tomorrow. Time for Z to make up for his recent shenanigans.

Tough matchup vs. Jurjens, but if Z steps it up we can win it. Z hasn't really had any of his dominant stretches this year like he tends to.

Cubs win!

We had it all along.

First 1-2-3 save of the year for Gregg?

Close. His 2nd of the season.

Happy to see Lee continue his great hot streak. Without his neck injury in May, he probably would have been over .800 already. As it is, he's coming up close to it rather quickly.

Also nice to see better performances from the bullpen all around.

Soriano probably should sit a couple of days to rest that knee. But it's going to be hard to sit him since he hates to sit and they already want to sit Soto and Bradley is hurt.

He had a .474 OPS since May 20th but that's over a very sporatic 28 ABs. I am not worried, he seem to be a solid .775/.825 hitter which people should be ecstatic that we could pull a player like that off the scrap heap of the Cubs farm system. Then again, an AB from Hoff is a AB taken away from Fox for the most part.

Oh, I realize there's a sample size issue. But I was responding to the statement that he was a hot hitter at the moment. A two week cutoff seemed suitable, but he hasn't done much since the calendar turned over from April... cut it up however one wants.

But I agree. He seems to be about an .800 or so OPS guy. I have zero problems with him being a big bat off the bench, and kudos to the Cubs brass for not paying 3 mil for veteran production of that caliber.

Be it true or not, Ive always felt that if you take a guy whose used to being an every day starter at every level and they become a pinch hitter in the majors its not alwasy easy to adjust.

Picked up this little gem listening to the Braves' broadcast tonight..... referring to Tuesday's comeback win.......

The last time a Braves team made up a 5 or more run deficit against the CUBS in the 8th inning or later...........

July of 1922 !!! when they were still in Boston !!!
