The active roster must be set by noon Monday each week and cannot be changed unless there is a trade or injury.

 

seems pretty clear to me.

My personal opinion on the matter is if a guy is not playing, we should be able to replace that player.

 

Whether it's for missing team buses, family emergencies, mild injuries, Lou not wanting that player to ever play again after an error or whatever other kind of crazy reason players don't play, we only have a set number of positions to score points. The only time I'd say you shouldn't be able to replace a player who is not playing is for a team off day.

 

If a player is sucking, I'd say you shouldn't be able to replace that player, even by dropping said player. You made that bed, lie in it.

 

That, or we stick to the rule as it is written, which I am fine with, also.
