Not sure that was really meant to be a sac bunt.

He squared around to bunt more than once. That pretty much means sacrifice.

Instead of giving Theriot, Bradley and Lee a chance to drive the guy in from 2nd, you force Theriot to make an out and then pressure Bradley to hit a deep fly. I'd much rather just let both of those guys take normal approaches and just try and hit the ball. When you move that guy to 3rd with one out you are taking one of your more talented hitters who is just now coming out of a slump and asking him to do a very specific job, rather than swinging away when comfortable. I really hate that crap.

But he squared around during the pitch..and Theriot frequently fakes the bunt so the third baseman plays in anyway, so the surprise factor isn't as much with him.

I think he was trying to bunt for a hit .

Thats just downright depressing at this point

I was much more concerned he was out for the season, so even just getting him back for August and September is huge.

either way, were going to have to finally get a real baseball player for 3rd.

As opposed to all of those fake basketball players we've had at 3rd? :-s

whatever they are, they have no business starting for a contender.

I gotta say, theres nothing that guarantee the Cubs a scoreless inning more than a lead off double

I wish I could swear we strand more lead off doubles than anyone else in the league but I'm sure we're aroudn teh middle of the pack or something
