this all but assures us the division now, so in that regard, it's good fortune

Cant tell if your kidding or not, but Rickie Weeks injury doesnt make us the favorites to win any more than Aramis going down makes the Brewers favorites to win. If Gamel becomes an every day player, this could make the Brewers offense better.

he might have been kidding. weeks isn't really *that* important. he was a good player, a bit streaky, but certainly not on the level of importance of their top tier guys.

Mat Gamel is a horrendous defender and Craig Counsel will be playing close to every day. until they find a replacement.

The offense might be affected, but not as much as if they lost someone like Hardy, Fielder, or even Cameron (leaving Braun off the list because if he goes down, the season is shot). Counsell's about as good as Weeks when it comes to OBP (even a little better this year, but the BABIP is still pretty high), and if Gamel starts platooning at third, a Hall/Gamel platoon could pick up some of that SLG slack that they're losing with Weeks out.

Not nearly disastrous, but still not a good thing, especially with Counsell having knee problems earlier this year in ST. I wouldn't be surprised to see them try a few things (playing Hall at 2B, Gamel full-time at 3B...talk about bad defense) before looking for a trade. If the Indians continue to fall out of it DeRosa might be an interesting option in a month or two.

I feel bad for Weeks and many of their fans but I don't feel bad about that announcer who laughed about Aramis getting hurt.

That guy can suck it.

who did that? brian anderson? uecker? sounds pretty appropriate

Bill Schroeder wet himself with joy the day after the injruy game during the intro.

Really? That sounds out of character for Schroeder. But I didn't hear it.

No it really isn't. After Gallardo got hurt last year he made a comment about how maybe Zambrano would get hurt to even things out. Anderson then said immediately you should never root for an injury to a player. Even he thought it was in poor taste.

I cant imagine the rage that would result on this board if that were to happen.

All the interwebs stretched throughout the entire world would spontaneously and simultaneously metamorphosis into snakes, as those which inhabit planes, and begin ravaging the citizenry. The ensuing chaos would surpass the global calamity known as Black Friday at Wal-Mart, and could conceivably threaten the very foundations of reality as we know it.

While a DeRosa trade would be very depressing to me, I'm really hoping the Crew doesn't sign Durham. He seems like a perfect fit for them with Weeks down.

i wasn't joking. the Brewers won't be much of a threat, unless they can trade for a frontline pitcher again.
