Hey, didn't get a chance to see Wells work today (or last week) can anyone tell me a bit about his outing today? His line suggests control problems, however no runs/XB hits are positives. He was around his plate. He couldn't put away some hitters, got into deep counts and ended up walking them, but had a good looking outing.

He was around his plate. He couldn't put away some hitters, got into deep counts and ended up walking them, but had a good looking outing.

 

Apparently the walks were due to a very inconsistent strike zone. A few ball 4's were obvious strike 3's.

Yeah, he definitely wasn't wild, and was very near the plate. A lot of movement on his fastball might have played a role, too.
