Here's an interesting split I came across.........

Soriano HR
Home Day 1
Home Nite 0
Road Day 0
Road Nite 8

season totals 9

.... also, Soriano is 1 for 1 against Jeff Suppan, and it was a HR.

You should have said theres some chance the game turns out differently, not a very good one. It comes down to the complete lack of trust in 5/7 of the pen.

No I said it exactly how I wanted to say it. Had we had a RH hitter on the bench to face Stetter there is a very good chance the game turns out differently. Stetters numbers against rightys are alot worse than his numbers vs LH hitters. If the Cubs tie that game up, or take the lead the game would have turned out very differently. We wouldnt have seen Fox, or Patton in that game, or had to throw Heilman to the wolves. Lou was hoping Demp could get 1 more inning since we were still down, but had it been tied or we had the lead, Marmol would have been used.

Yes there is a lack of trust in the 5-7 guys in the pen, but thats why you dont play your bench a man short so you can tie it or take the lead and skip having to use Fox, Patton, or Heilman.

Fox was unavaliable for Iowa yesterday due to being hit with part of a broken bat, meaning he wouldnt have been available for us either so the bench man would have been Brad Snyder, whose a lefty or Jason Dubois, and weve been there and done that.

Id take Dubois up there against Stetter over Hoff. Lefties struggle mightily against Stetter, any RH bat in AAA would have been a better option. Again the teams unwillingness to DL players is completely absurd, especially when that player has been terrible all year. Hell Id taken my chances with Koyie Hill facing Stetter and finishing the game at 1st base. Or why not Reed to face Stetter and move Bradley to 1st for 2 innings? 1st base isnt that difficult for someone to play for 2 innings, hell Im pretty sure Soto has played it in the minors a little.

Absolutely no excuse for batting Miles 2nd.

Actually, I kind of like his .500 OBP in the number 2 spot !!

LOL @ Freel still being hurt

nice trade Jimmy

Would you rather have Joey?

Joey Gaithwright, while being bad at baseball, is healthy enough to compete.

This........

04/06 - 05/09 AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI%
Gathright 14 2 3 0 0 0 0 1 6 0.214 0.267 0.214 0.481 0.375 3.80 0.052 0.000

..... can hardly be called competing !!!!

Why the reluctance to move injured guys on DL. Jim or Lou.

They're not going to make a decision, one way or the other, with D Lee until the doctors check him out tomorrow.

He was available to pinch hit yesterday so I imagine the same holds true today.
