Hes 27 in AA. Doesnt exactly make me want to stab my eyes or bang my head.

He was born in December 1983. He's not turning 26 until after the season.

The guy's finally got a reasonable walk rate and a passable strikeout rate, both of which were killing him in Daytona. He's hitting the ball well enough to merit a promotion to AAA soon. Maybe he won't be the All Star we all thought he could have been back when he was destroying the ball down in Lansing, but with numbers like those, he definitely could make his way into the majors and be a decent hitter.

Speaking of remembering guys:

John Koronka-S-Marlins May. 10 - 11:52 am et

John Koronka looks to be the front-runner to replace Anibal Sanchez in the rotation.

The Miami Herald reported that instead of Koronka's name among the pitching probables for Triple-A New Orleans is a "to be announced" starter. Daniel Barone, who was also under consideration, is listed as the Triple-A starter for Tuesday. Koronka, 28, impressed the Marlins in spring training and has a 3.00 ERA in 27 innings. He's started four games and relieved in six with his two most recent starts being impressive. He has a career 6.02 ERA in 151 innings with the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers. He'll go opposite Manny Parra in Milwaukee. Stay away.

Havent heard that name in quite a spell.

He's 24... i have no idea why we gave up on him so quickly.

Check out this article.

The article's got it wrong. He's 25. He'll turn 26 this winter.

Should they have held onto him? Who knows. Maybe. But maybe he wouldn't have turned things around if he hadn't had a change of scenery. The Cubs have had some change-of-scenery success stories, so it's no surprise when they have one that goes the other way.

Is this a matter of him needing a change of scenery to help himself start putting it together again or a change of hitting coach to show him how to put it together again?

I always thought of Dope having a good work ethic and Von Joshua is a very good hitting coach. IIRC, he had a hand or wrist injury and what he probably needed was to recover from that fully.

Dope never made it to AAA to get to be around St. Von. He'd probably hit 350 under his teachings. I'd probably hit 250 with some coaching from Joshua.

Where and how is Ryan Harvey doing?

He has a .220/.281/.439 line for the Tulsa Drillers, which is the Rockies AA team. He has managed to cut down his strikeouts slightly so far this year but still doesn't appear to be anything but a pure slugger.

25 Dope-slaps, 88 RBI combined between AA and AAA, over .300 average at each level, and twice Eastern League Player of the Week this year. Looks like he may have figured something out.

The BBs and Ks are still issues, but he's hitting enough to at least merit a bench spot at this point.

It must have been painful for some fans to see him at Wrigley Field playing against the Iowa Cubs.

Well if there were fans that felt any pain, they must feel an inordinate amount of pain whenever they see either of the Patterson brothers come up to the plate for a Triple A affiliate near you.

It's been interesting following Jays fans take on Dopirak this year. Basically, a lot of them think he can play a role on their rebuilding club in the near future. I think he's probably improved, but I'm not sure he's anything more than a power bat off the bench, if he makes it to the bigs.

If he has indeed put it together and can provide some sort of big league power, he'd probably make a nice DH for the Jays. With Rios gone they can slot Lind back in the OF with the callup of Snider and put Dopirak at DH if they feel he's ready to contribute. IIRC, Dopirak had pretty mediocre defensive skills, he'd probably make an ideal DH if he can provide 20-30HR power.
