The best part about being on ESPNU is having announcers who refuse to actually talk about the game. Hopefully Jay Williams can talk about himself some more.

You didn't like his story how David Thompson said he was going to be a great ACC player?

It was great because he actually didn't mention Duke that time. Only the ACC.

And Beth Mowins doesn't bother to actually say what a whistle was for. There have been at least two occasions where a whistle was called on NU and I had no idea who the foul was on.

Apparently the officials don't watch the game nor the replay.

What happened?

Our true freshman put up his elbow towards the defender's face when he was trying to go through him after the ball was whistled out of bounds. The elbow was right at his face but never actually connected. But fine, that's a technical. Then they review it and determine it was out on Northwestern, which nobody in their right mind would make that determination.

Now they call the smallest player on the court for a foul on a rebound with their center on his back.

Northwestern has played like garbage since about the 15:00 mark. You have timeouts for a reason Carmody.

No, since about 3 minutes left in the half. They're completely out of energy. Thompson has to play 40 a night and the offense is just sloppy.

I really don't know what to make of this game. Both teams were really tired. NU didn't play well at all, and yet they're about to pick up a quality road win on short rest. They're going to go to 6-1 with 4 non-conference games left before Big Ten season starts: NC A&T, North Florida, Stanford, and Central Connecticut State. That's a real chance of going 10-1 heading into Big Ten play with two more non-cons later in the year (Texas-Pan American and Chicago State). It's just a shame the students won't be at those games.

And the only loss, home against Butler, won't go down as a particularly bad loss despite how they played.

I can't believe how you guys are doing without Coble. Kudos to Carmody.
