I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend,

You could, cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in.

And, if you do not want to see me again.

I would understand...

I would understand...

The angry boy, a bit too insane,

Icing over a secret pain,

You know you don't belong.

You're the first to fight,

You're way too loud,

You're the flash of light on a burial shroud,

I know something's wrong.

Well everyone I know has got a reason,

To say,

Put the past away.

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend,

You could, cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in.

And, if you do not want to see me again.

I would understand...

I would understand...

Well, he's on the table and he's gone to code,

And I do not think anyone knows,

What they're...doing here.

And your friends have left you,

You've been dismissed,

I never thought it would come to this,

And I, I want you to know.

Everyone's got to face down the demons,

Maybe today,

You can put the past away.

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend,

You could, cut ties with all the lies that you've been living in.

And, if you do not want to see me again.

I would understand...

I would understand...

I would understand...

I would understand...

I would understand...

Understand...

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Can you put the past away?

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend,

I would understand...

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend,

I would understand...

I wish you would step back from that ledge, my friend,

And I would understand...

I watch as the daylight crawls

Past the shadows hanging on the walls

Its been a long time since I felt the stains

Of yesterday getting in my way

Im alive but tell me am I free

Ive got eyes but tell me can I see

The sky is falling and no one knows

We shouldnt be hard to believe

Shouldnt be this difficult to breathe

The sky is falling and no one knows

You leave me hanging on

I need to catch my breath

Ive got you and Ive got nothing left

Dont leave me all alone down here

With myself and all of my fear

Im alive but tell me am I free

Ive got eyes but tell me can I see

The sky is falling and no one knows

We shouldnt be hard to believe

Shouldnt be this difficult to breathe

The sky is falling and no one knows

No one knows

No one knows

Im alive but tell me am I free

there is no way that this team will be as bad as the 2006 cubs; that team was bad on paper. the mariners also had a really bad offense that was really bad because most of the team was either completely washed up (vidro, sexson, johjima) or couldn't hit (jeremy reed, yuniesky betancourt, the entire bench). jarrod washburn, carlos silva and miguel batista were terrible signings who pitched terribly. if this cub team sucks it will be because everyone gets hurt, not because players perform like they're supposed to.

completely washed up: "Lee, Bradley, Fuku"

couldn't hit: "Fontenot, Soto, and the bench"

Terrible signings that pitched terribly "the entire bullpen and Ryan Dempster"

LOL

What part of Fuku is telling you that he's completely washed up? I mean, Bradley is off to a godawfully slow start and even though he won't continue to hit at that low of a rate at least I can see where the overreaction is coming from. But Fuku is tearing the cover off the ball.

How quickly we forget 2008.

Well if you're going to play that card then we shouldn't be worried about Bradley. Or Dempster. Or Soto. Or Fontenot. Or even Lee considering - while not great - his 08 numbers were at least acceptable.

as roast pointed out, you're picking and choosing and basically looking ridiculous.

How quickly we forget 2008.

How quickly YOU are obviously forgetting that 2008 was his FIRST year at a higher level of competition and he was recovering from an elbow injury the previous year. If he starts to fall off again this year then we'll talk.

I stand by my prediction: Cubs 8-154*

*I assume one of their wins will be overturned.

On the bright side, that would give them the inside track for the #1 pick in the draft. I'm thinking they'll go with a HS pitcher with shoulder problems or a LH hitting OF with no plate discipline.
