I stand by my prediction: Cubs 8-154*

*I assume one of their wins will be overturned.

On the bright side, that would give them the inside track for the #1 pick in the draft. I'm thinking they'll go with a HS pitcher with shoulder problems or a LH hitting OF with no plate discipline.

Lets go for a lefty reliever. gotta get out those lefties late in the game.

Nah, it will be 0-162. They'll have to forfeit all their wins when it's discovered that "Fukodome" is actually an imposter. After all, we all know that the REAL Fukodome sucks.

I vote utility infielder.

there is no way that this team will be as bad as the 2006 cubs; that team was bad on paper. the mariners also had a really bad offense that was really bad because most of the team was either completely washed up (vidro, sexson, johjima) or couldn't hit (jeremy reed, yuniesky betancourt, the entire bench). jarrod washburn, carlos silva and miguel batista were terrible signings who pitched terribly. if this cub team sucks it will be because everyone gets hurt, not because players perform like they're supposed to.

completely washed up: "Lee, Bradley, Fuku"

couldn't hit: "Fontenot, Soto, and the bench"

Terrible signings that pitched terribly "the entire bullpen and Ryan Dempster"

Which team are u a scout for?

(If by some insane twist of fate, you aren't being paid big bucks by a pro team as a scout, then sorry for the silly question.)

Toolsy middle infielder who can't hit. Pass on a college version of Adam Dunn.

Good to see the fans accepting their inner Dave Littlefield!

Wait, you still haven't answered why 2008 is the only way to judge Kosuke but a terrible way to judge Lee, Soto, Fontenot, and Dempster.

Lee never recovered from his injury and is now washed up. Same with Kosuke.

Still haven't told me what you're basing this on. Obviously it's not this years numbers because Kosuke is tearing it up. Obviously not last year's numbers because lee wasn't bad last year.

Plus, still nothing on Fontenot, Dempster, and Soto.

Kosuke's fine. And before anyone says "he did well early last year before the league had a book on him", let me point out they still had that same book on opening day this year, and it hasn't stopped Fuku from raking. He has adjusted to it.

Lee, however, may well be washed up.

Yeah, I'm not doubting that lee is on a downturn in his career. I was moreso pointing out how ridiculous his argument was.

As for Kosukue, he'll be fine. He wont hit this well all year long but I don't think he's going to fall off like last year.

Um, no. Kosuke is not washed up and you know it. Lee, maybe.

The second best season of Lee's career came the year after the wrist injury.
