At least we got 1 this time...

I didn't want to have to talk about how this is the 5th time this year in 10 games where we had a runner on third and 0 outs and didn't score a run.

why do people ever throw Soriano a strike?

I've been asking myself that since the day we signed him. It simply makes no sense to throw anything but low and away breaking balls.

Eh, I'll talk it Kosuke. I was pretty sure we wouldn't have scored at all.

Now we won't score again this inning. I hate having the bases loaded.

It's better than the Dusty days where you could lay even odds on the Cubs not scoring in an inning where they get a runner on third.

When the bottom of the lineup loads the bases with 0 out with the top of the order coming up traditionally, you should come out of the inning with more than 1 run.

And when the rookie mediocre opposing pitcher would be out of the second inning on 17 pitches, rather than pushing 60.

I know, it seems like whenever we get the bases loaded, we either get way too patient and take too many hittable pitches trying to draw a walk, or we tighten up and expand our strike zone trying to get anything in the air to drive in a run. It's like we lose the approach that got us the bases loaded in the first place.

Damn it, Pat Hughes. You got my hopes up for no reason.
