i'm not saying it takes away from anything MJ did. i'm saying it was a wild, hail mary shot that scraped the rafters and then went in. it was not an in-control, calculated shot that everyone expected to drop. it was a fling and a prayer and he got lucky. unfortunately, this is just going to add to the myth that lebron is somehow a clutch player and not a super-talented league clown.

i'm really surprised at how well orlando is playing them. cleveland needs to defend the 3-ball better and lebron's supporting cast needs to start showing up.

So am I. But like Hollinger and Pelton have said we should have seen this coming. Orlando clearly presents matchup problems that Cleveland can't answer or exploit on their own. Defensively they're looking clueless at times which I definitely did not expect.

LeBron James is awesome... Sucks for us that he's going to be better than MJ by the end of his career.

I don't think he is going to be. He's halfway to the dreaded 1,000 games for a big man. Yes he is a big man I don't care what position he plays. I imagine he peaks the next couple years and falls off quickly.

You really think LeBron is going to be a non factor in a couple years?

Did I say non factor? I think he ages like most guys that size. Still a good player, but not blowing by Jordan like everyone thinks. The thing is he can't slip even a bit if he wants to surpass Jordan.

LBJ has to keep being himself for like 6 or 7 more years to get to Jordan's level, and he probably has to win at least 3 titles to even be in the discussion. He could, but I don't think we MJ slurpers have anything to worry about, at least not yet.

That was better than any of MJs game winners except game 6 in 1998. What can I say other than I predicted that. It's amazing when superstars can come through like that. I could probably do that new out of every 300 attempts. Props LBG.

that shot was a hail mary. mj never put up a hail mary because he never put himself in a situation where he needed to take one.

:rotfl:

Hate to break it to you but Jordan and the Bulls failed to pull series' out that they could have won until the breakthrough year when they won the first title. See the Jordan led Bulls failing to get out of the first round the first three times in the playoffs with Jordan, see losing three straight years to the Pistons prior to winning the first title. Everyone has forgotten all that, or chooses to ignore it, but for Jordan's first 5-6 years he wasn't all that great at pulling out series wins. Once he got a great supporting cast everything took off. Gee that sounds a lot like LeBron, except LeBron has never lost in the first round. I'm not big into trying to compare the two's playoff history because they were different era's but please don't be so ignorant to say Jordan never put his team in the position to make a miraculous shot or face defeat. They lost plenty early on in Jordan's career.

i think he'll age like karl malone.

he's a genetic freak, anyway, and it's not like he doesn't take care of his body

i just wish he did more of his work in the post, he would have already shaved off some miles

Even if he does that I don't think he has the post game you need to still be an elite player. Or at least if he has it he has yet to really show it.

Given his size, he'd be fine in the post. He has such an advantage down there.

Jordan was the ultimate "Yeah, he's good, but he can't win a title" guy for a long time. Until he did.

Sort of like Manning.

sulley's weiner gets smaller every morning he wakes up and realizes that jordan's grip on the G.O.A.T. is slipping

I'm not sure the refs are aware this game isn't at Staples Center.

What a horrible technical call on Kleiza.

Denver's taken 20 FT's to LA's 17. Denver's been called for 10 fouls to LA's 14.

I know it's the cool thing to rip on the refs and claim that the Lakers are getting all the calls but come on.

That post was made very early in the game...we're talking like 2-3 minutes. The calls evened out since then. (Though that technical on Kleiza was horrible.)

Fair enough.

And yeah, weak tech. When it was called, I thought it was on Odom for something he said or did to Kleiza.

Ariza walking back to the locker room. That's not good since he's one of the two guys who has actually hit an outside shot or two during the postseason.

that's the thing that drives me crazy about the lakers. they get the calls at home, which i don't mind so much because everyone knows the refs cater to the home team in the nba. but when they go on the road there's either neutral officiating or they keep getting calls.
