dumb base running play but at least he drove the run in.

Maybe Fuku needs the extra brain matter to hit better. Good baserunning must be sacrificed a little :)

Why sacrifice?

It is a bit strange with a 3 run lead.

It's not that strange, in general. You can then justify sitting down your closer. But with the Cubs talking about Gregg's knee not being able to rest after warming up, it seems odd. They can keep him warming up with somebody else starting the 9th though and bring him in only if it turns back into a save situation. He pitched yesterday, but not Saturday, and he won't be pitching tomorrow.

Bob mentioning how the Cubs would draw 9 walks in a week when they (Len and Bob) first got there, brings back great memories of Bob openly questioning Dusty's managing in the booth.

Did Soriano look a little gimpy there to anyone else?

yep

I'm hoping he was just being weary of the wet conditions.

I was wondering if it sounded like Bob was saying "Dusty sucks" to anybody but me.

Here we go. Strap on your seatbelts and send the kids away.

On the plus side, I don't think he could pitch in more favorable conditions. If he walks two guys my guess is Lou just slugs him right in front of god and everyone.
