Hill is just fine as a backup catcher. He's had 3 hits(including a huge HR) and 2 walks this week, not sure what more you want.

 

I wanted Blanco back, but Hill will do. He caught someone stealing last week on a tough pitch in the dirt. On the other hand, I don't know if he or Gregg called that curve to walk Milwaukee's 5th outfielder. That was inexcusable. But he's doing just fine so far.

 

Hill called that pitch and apologized for it afterward.

Good job then. I heard an interview with him today and he seemed like a cool guy.

I know it's highly unlike that he's going to keep these numbers up, but you gotta love it while it lasts......

ive been pimping hill for 2 years as the backup. hes a great guy and solid ballplayer. he has hit well here for the past two years.

Isn't your son old enough to step in yet? What's the holdup?
