I don't think anyone would watch a Vancouver-Anaheim match up.

No kidding. The league has to be praying for the Hawks-Wings matchup. It's not possible for me to comment on this without my own bias, but I would imagine that Conference Final would have some broad appeal.

I'm not nearly as excited right now as I was this time on Tuesday, of course. But I know I will be by gametime. And I'm pre-gaming it at the bar, so I might be a little worked up tonight, no matter how things go.

I said it the other day and it's still true. They have to come out from minute one with heads out of asses and get an early lead. Do that, get the crowd fully into it, and they can run these guys out of the building.

I have very little expectations for tonight's game, but they've beaten my expectations all year, so hopefully they can guarantee one more home game with a win tonight.

They got my hopes up with that Game 2 win, but still, getting this series to 6 or 7 would be great.

I know a few here like to minimize the importance of experience, but the 10 or so (at least) playoff games that these guys have played will pay off down the line.

Salo's out again tonight.

The Canucks will not have Sami Salo in the lineup, after he missed Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury. Salo did not take the pregame skate today, so Ossi Vaananen will remain in the Canucks lineup.

Demitra's out for the series.

Meanwhile, Pavol Demitra will most likely be sidelined for the remainder of the series, after suffering a concussion in game two.

It's better than them playing, but after what happened the other night it's hard for me to be excited about this news.

Thanks to the Big Guy Upstairs for sending some lightning strikes between games of the doubleheader I was covering, I'm back just in time to turn the stream on at work while I write.

That means he wants you to see a win right?

I've just discovered that I don't have VS at my house so now I have to go to my GF's house to watch the game.

I know, I know, why don't I blog about it.

Anyone who just realizes that they don't have VS at their house, probably doesn't have a GF.

What would I ever need VS for besides hockey games? All the Blackhawks games are on Comcast, and the one that wasn't I watched at my GF's house and didn't need to discover if I had VS or not.

It was a lame attempt at a masculinity joke.

Good start, even though we haven't scored yet. Much more active and being much more physical should pay dividends down the road in this one.

To a certain degree though its limiting our opportunities. Always going for the big hit is great and all, but in doing so it takes yourself out of the play as well. Its hard to score on a turnover when everyone is out of the play by finishing their checks. Its a fine balance that I hope they find better in the next two periods.

Has anyone posted this before?

I just did this for the first time, it simulated the Hawks winning the Cup over Washington. The Hawks played Anaheim in the Conf. Finals, and Carolina played Washington.

Edit: This loves the Hawks....the second time I did it, the Hawks were "upset" in the Finals by the Penguins.
