Traffic in front the net, short rebound went straight to a Calgary player, Khabibulin got his skate over but not his leg all the way down and it slipped under.

Thanks, doesn't seem like he could have been blamed for that one.

Calgary is about to be 0-5 in Chicago this season. Even if they win game 6, the Hawks have a big advantage in game 7.

Let's just end this thing on Monday.

Easier said than done.

It looks to me like the Hawks can skate circles around the Flames when they open up the ice and, to some extent, they can grind it out. If the can do so (open up the ice) at the Saddledome they'll end it Monday.

I only saw the last 25 minutes of the game, but whenever the Flames started to get chippy the Hawks were quick to react. The aggressiveness from the Hawks just seemed to be up today and that's going to have to continue on Monday if we want to close it out in Canada.

You should find a way to rewatch the first period. The first 10 minutes were epic. The Hawks were dominating like you wouldn't believe, could have easily have five or six goals, and held Calgary without a shot.

so guys, do we want Vancouver or San Jose in the second round?

No question Vancouver. I know San Jose is struggling mightily with Anaheim but if they were to come back and defeat the Ducks in that series, that might get them rolling. Plus they still have a ton of offensive firepower that we'd have to neutralize so I'll stick with the 'Nucks even though they handed it to us the last two times we played them.

Hawks will be fine. I bet the dominate the Flames tomorrow after a day off and an ass kicking from Q. Going to be an extra gear here for the rest of the series.

I hope getting their ass handed to them twice in a row will maybe drop some of the cocky levels and make them be a bit more focused. Hopefully carrying that mentality into round 2 against the Canucks. Looks like Anaheim will be playing Detroit.

Awesome win! I was going ballistic in the bar, luckily I wasn't the only one... Chicago truly has re-wrapped their arms around the Hawks! I don't really remember anything after about 7 minutes into the 3rd. I know Eager fought someone... did it get more chippy after that?

Just watched the highlights on NHL.com

Versteeg's goal was incredible.

Eager's hit that sparked the fight was incredible.

Havlat is incredible.

I am surprised the Hawks didn't score 10 in this one.

EDIT: Ladies and gentlemen, Ben Eager:

EDIT AGAIN: Ladies and gentlemen, Matt Walker is a man.

God I love game days! Makes work go by so much faster.

I really hope after tonight that I don't have to watch another Hawks game til late this weekend! Make it so!

Work might go by faster, but the time between when I get home and game time is going to drag! So much so that I think I might try to stay at work later.

Or I could just go to the bar for a few hours. That sounds better.

Apparently Phaneuf is questionable for tonight. Wouldn't miss him. I saw it somewhere else, and it's noted in this screed about Kipper needing to man up:

The Calgary papers are funny.

According to the Globe and Mail, Phaneuf is OUT for tonight. Anders Eriksson will replace him. In addition, Eager broke Pardy's nose in the fight Saturday night.

If Phaneuf is indeed out tonight, the Hawks need to take advantage and win this series. That's a huge loss for Calgary and one that can be exploited. Eriksson is no where near the player Phaneuf is.

Yes, that is great news. And the Hawks really need to win this game, because I'm going to be traveling Wednesday night and will once again be scrambling around to find a sports bar showing the game. On the Redneck Riviera.

I have a great feeling about tonight. I think we finally figured out that we are the more skilled team and will use this to our advantage again.

I really do too. But this is going to be brutal. I definitely don't see another 3-4 goal win here. The most important thing is going to be solid defensive play. Puck gets into the slot or the crease, get it out of there immediately. They were so good at that on Saturday night.

NHL.com lists the Blackhawks game being on versus, at least for the first hour. This might end up really sucking for me. The non-versus games have been available on CSN via center ice. But if it's on versus, that feed is blacked out. If they just show the first hour of this game until the previously scheduled ANA/SJ 10:30 eastern game, I will be pissed.
