ESPN has picked up where NBC left off...look at all this cheating the Wings are doing to win.

Malkin tried to get the puck along the boards and misses, Samuelson poke checks in also...Look at that interference!!! Goal for Wings because they cheat

Hossa and Pen dman are making a play for puck, Pens dman stick breaks and they think that is slashing...Goal for Wings because they cheat

No questioning of how Pittsburgh got on the PP to score their goal though...HHMMMM

When pitt does questionable things its hard work/good play. Wings are interferring and slashing

There's one thing you've got to admit - the Wings have had a tremendous amount of good luck lately. What lose puck hasn't bounced their way or into the opponents goal?

I think I mentioned somewhere after both games that the Wings have been fortunate to win. I dont think they have been outplayed, but they havent outplayed Pittsburgh either. They have gotten the more of the lucky bounces.

Maybe I am just a homer, but I surely have picked up on an Detroit gets away with stuff theme that NBC(Enzo) and ESPN have picked up. I generally dont complain that much about officiating and announcing, but I would hope when Enzo's 2 favorite teams(pen/hawks) make/win the cup the announcers point out the merit of the victory, not the bending of the rules. If Detroit was getting away with stuff that no one else was doing, then fine. The "subtle" interference is common practice in the NHL, so it is very unprofessional of Enzo to make a Detroit issue about it late in the playoffs

I think the thing that bothers me the most is that I have defended Olcyzck before to Wings fans for being a pretty even headed announcer...He is really disappointing me in this finals though

I wonder if it's more an outgrowth of people growing tried of the same team winning most of the time? I don't know for certain but, it's probably not a reach that people felt the same way about the Habs in the 60's and 70's. I'd sure like to hear/see the Black Hawks with such a "problem" in a few years and someday maybe our Cubbies - different context but, the same problem media, etc. tried of their success, looking for reasons beyond the rule book why they're so good, etc.

I think your right..Yankees are a team that comes to mind also. Back in the late 90s they got "every" call. Michigan/Ohio St in Big Ten football also deal with this mindset quite often.

I just think it is real unprofessional when the announcers start taking part in it. Fans have biases opinions which most often are wrong. National announcers are supposed to be above that stuff.

It's pretty sad that the Stanley Cup Finals can't even merit broadcast TV for every game. The NHL has a lot of work to do.....

Here comes the (P)ittsburgh (P)enguins, nice diving!

so when your team is tripped, it's because the other team is dierty, but when the other team is tripped, it's diving/flopping. Just making sure I'm clear on this.....

I know what you were referring to, but yours was the newest post in the thread at the time I checked it.

Either way, my point stands
