I'll say April 21st. A combination of Lee's decline and Bradley/Ramirez tearing the cover off the ball will eventually force the move.

I do agree with moving Lee, but I wouldnt consider Bradleys 1-11 tearing the cover off the ball.

Yeah that was a prediction of the next 10 games.

He's probably the most impressive 1-11 hitter I've ever seen.

I wont disagree, but Ill be a lot happier when he starts putting the bat one the ball.

I'm not ready to give up on D Lee yet, but things are not looking positive at the moment. I think you need to give him at least until the second week of May in the three hole. That way the move cannot just be chalked up to a slow start. If the production does not come by then, than it is probably not going to come at all. That said it is still early, and I hope he can still get hot and be a threat.

Its not like this is a new revelation though...

If Geo were in the lineup, I'd hit DLee 8th. If Geo were in, DLee honestly would be the player that I'd expect the least production from in the lineup. He's been struggling to make decent contact for a long time now. He's simply not a power threat, he's not hitting for average, and he's not walking any more like he used to. I wouldn't be surprised if he finds himself out of the league when his contract is up if he doesn't turn around this slide that is a couple of years in the making.

I posted this in the IGT but it probably could be addressed here. I said that is should be something done in the offseason or spring, but maybe it's time Lee changes something in his stance. What that is IDK, but maybe closing up a little bit, moving his hands around, etc.

Going from memory, hasn't Lee traditionally been a slow starter?

Going by OPS, May is actually historically his worst month:

March/April: .899

May: .734

June: .959

July: .883

August: .841

September/October: .872

And Lee has been at/near his peak the last few Aprils. Back in 2004-5 you could say he was a bad April/May player.

I think it'll happen sometime in late april early may. He cant square anything up right now (or most of last year). Even when he does get a pitch to hit he's only demonstrating warning track power. Put him in the seven hole and let him hit his way out of it with less pressure. But leave him there because he probably never going to be the player we saw in a couple years ago.

It really fustrating to watch him right now.

I know it's early, but.......

04/06 - 04/11 AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI%
D Lee 22 1 2 1 0 0 2 2 5 0.091 0.167 0.136 0.303 0.118 3.42 0.076 0.167

Have you kept stats about how many times he's rolled over on a pitch to the left-side of the infield? It has to be up around 75% of the time.

So I looked it up because I was wondering myself.

The correct number is 27.2%

Not with the way he plays defense.

I want to see Bradley move to 3, aram 4, soto 5

There's not much of a demand for good defensive punchin judy first basemen in the league. Mentkievich is the only guy I can think of that's been able to pull it off.

How much longer is he under contract?

Is it punching judy or punch and judy? I was always under the impression that it was punch and judy but I really have no idea. Where does that expression even come from?

Love to be wrong but this might be the end of the line for Lee.

Its not even that he doesn't have his swing anymore, he's just going up there with a really poor approach lately. Swinging at a ton of junk he never used to swing at (circa 2005 Lee), I feel like he's exacerbating his decline, which could be slow and keep him as a productive player, by helping the opposition too much.
