I do think the Brewers bullpen is better than we started off last year, there is no Gange, Turnbow or Mota. If you want to think they not go go right ahead, but the Brewers are still very much a good team.

There's also no Torres or Shouse. There is Jorge Julio though.

I wouldn't go that far, The team is almost the same team to start the season as last year, only think is you replace sheets with yo. and yo is better than sheets. When we got CC the Brewers were 15 games about .500. I wouldn't make to much of the 3 games at sf, we had to face 3 really good pitchers and the Brewers have never played well on the west coast. The Brewers are a much better at home. I do think the Brewers bullpen is better than we started off last year, there is no Gange, Turnbow or Mota. Saying Gallardo is better than Sheets, if both pitchers are healthy, is absurd at this point. Id like to see Gallardo make 25-30 starts in a full season before hes labled as better than Sheets.

I still like Gallardo, but I agree.

There's still some good talent on the Brewers to be excited about. If I'm a Crew fan, looking at where they were a few years back, I can see still being more proud of my team than I was during the really lean years. I'd be pretty wary of that staff, that's all.

Writing off the Brewers at this point is pretty silly.

I wrote them off before the season started. Is that ok?

So between them and the Cards, you think the Cubs are just going to coast to an easy division title, without question?

Yeah, really smart.

Yeah, really smart.

It's by far the most likely scenario.

Last year the Cards and the Brewers were really good and the Cubs coasted. Yeah, the Cubs aren't as good as last year (most likely) but neither are the Cards and the Brewers.

The Cardinals are the 2nd best team in the division. They're not particularly close to the Cubs. We should win the division by 10 games.

what should happen and what will happen can be different things. the cards have a history of outperforming expectations (see 2008). if rasmus establishes himself as a good player this year, glaus can come back and be healthy for much of the year and ludwick/ankiel prove that last year was not a fluke, they can have a good offense. if carpenter and wainwright stay healthy i think their pitching will be pretty solid too.

that being said, the cubs should be better even if those things happen. if the cubs underperform it will likely be due to injuries to harden/zambrano/marshall/bradley. the cubs are a clear favorite, but i can see the cards winning 90 games without having to make unrealistic assumptions.
