CUBS are 73-3 when they lead by 22 runs or more at the end of the 8th inning.

Go CUBS !!

We lost 3 games blowing 22 run leads?

That makes me glad we kept Prior in that Game 2 to protect the 10-run lead.

(No. I will not let it go. Ever).

Ramirez jogs to first and costs his team an out.

Shut it Rozner

Uhhh the thing is, he really did. Can't be pulling that crap with only a 2 run lead in your last at bat. I don't care if it's game 1 or game 141.

I agree, cut him. It's not like he's helped this team tonight.

And also folks that want Marmol closing, that is why Marmol should be where hes at. Marmol faces the 1-4 guys, and now the closer gets the 5-8 guys.

What happens tomorrow when Marmol comes in for the 8th and faces the 7-8-9 guys, and Gregg the 1-3 guys?

The thing is, everyone has been saying that its great Marmol can be a setup guy to put out fires when he's most needed, but to be honest, 95% of the time, Marmol is going to strictly pitch the 8th and Gregg the 9th.

The first time he pulls a hamstring running full-speed, he costs the team a lot more than an out.

If a professional baseball player pulls a groin/hamstring from running to first base, he needs to get his ass in shape.

Happens all the time. Especially to guys who have histories of nagging injuries.

Doesn't Ramirez have a history of hamstring issues? I think once it's damaged it can be damaged again easily and I don't think it has much to do with how much shape you're in. I could be way wrong here though.

not necessarily. lou was smart enough to bring him in when the 7th inning guy got into a jam. 95% of the time gregg will be coming in with the bases empty. marmol adds a lot of value because of the ability to pitch out of a jam or get a strikeout when he needs one.

in other news, unc is already kicking the crap out of moo.
