I don't know if I should be happy or sad WVU lost. I was expecting to lose to them, so I wouldn't have been heart-broken when it happened. We also would have been an underdog, which is better for KU's players. Now they'll be expected to win, and I can't stand watching us struggle against these mid majors. Last year's Davidson game and this year's NDSU game probably took a decade off my life.

Well I had Temple as my surprise Sweet 16 team this year and that backfired in the first round. Then I had WVU beating Kansas to go to the Sweet 16 and they can't even make it past Dayton. So I lost those two Sweet 16 teams to go on top of losing Clemson in the Elite Eight.

 

I'm going to need some prayers now.

pitt looked horrendous. normally if a 16 hangs with a 1 it's because they played out of their mind, but it's not like ETSU played great - yeah they hustled a lot but they shot 30% from the field, 19% from downtown and 50% from the free throw line. their outside game was God-awful. if a 16 seed plays like that, you'd think they'd lose by 50. instead pitt pissed the ball away almost 20 times, and ETSU killed them on the offensive boards. if they play that way next round they will lose.

WVU is the first sweet 16 team I've lost. I'll be rooting big-time for Dayton to mess up everyone else's brackets, too

i've gotten a lot of upsets wrong by 1-4 points. i suppose i'm a little spoiled by the years that i had kent st and southern illinois going far and they panned out, but i kinda expect a team like utah st to hold a six point lead in the last 5 minutes rather than royally choking it away. that was one i felt pretty good about until they crapped the bed.

 

anyway at the point the tourney has been boring so i'm just rooting for schadenfreude.

The Big East is 6-1, but 5 of the wins were slam-dunk picks and the 6th was Marquette playing like crap against USU. Round 2 should shed a little more light on things.

It's not like Pitt and Nova cruised to easy wins either against teams they shouldn't have been struggling with.

Oh, I'm sure they were good, but they also played like ass for the first half. Marquette should have been up by more at the break. It was when USU started playing well in the second half that things got interesting.

Everyone I lost I had going out next round though so I'm in good shape. Apparently I picked Dayton in our pool (which I don't remember) and West Virginia on my ESPN bracket. That's odd.
