I think they released those pretty late last year, too. Right around the time spring training games were starting up, IIRC.

Thank You

Opening Day not being on WGN would really bother me if it wasn't for the fact that I get the CSN games in HD but not WGN

Also, Opening Day is the same day as the NCAA Championship game

Isn't that usually the case?

don't remember. When the Cubs open during the day (or on Sunday night) it's not an issue

I have to make a decision on MLBTV or a new stereo.

I'm doing Gameday Audio this year. I'm blacked out of Cubs games anyway.

MLBTV follows blackout rules too? I only want it for Cubs games. If the Cubs will get blacked out then forget it.

You bet they follow the blackout rules. Can't miss more chances to screw over baseball fans.

I'm planning on getting a regional sports package through Dish. I used to have MLB.TV (which was $80 or $90 for the year) but the package is $10 per month and I can get it for the six months of baseball season for a total of $60. I'll have to miss the WCIU games, but it's just eight games.

Why don't you watch it on TV or do you not have cable or satellite? CSNC is the RSN in this area and I am able to watch all the games (except WCIU because it's too much of a pain to switch over to an antenna to get it on channel 69). MLBTV blacks out in market subscribers which is why you cannot get the Cubs games (nor Sox, Tigers, Reds). So I am going to assume this is for when you are working.

If you go to the page and plug in your zip code, it will tell you which teams are "in market" and hence, blacked out.

Indiana's cable companies don't carry CSN Chicago because it's not the local RSN. At the same time, it technically is inside the Cubs home territory so the games are also blacked out on MLBTV.

So if you get cable for any reason, you have no way of seeing those Cub games in this market. I'm still crossing my fingers that they won't black the games out with Uverse (which actually has the channel but they blacked out Bulls games) but I'll have to wait another month to see for sure.

You do realize that all the games will be blacked out on that package right? There's no way they allow that to be showed without paying for MLBEI.

Only the Brewers would be blacked out for me. Hooray!

It's the same way for my folks (who live in NIles MI, 90 miles from Chicago, 10 from IN). Last year they got a dish (up from the basic cable package, woo who!). I tried to order MLBEI for my dad but called first. He gets CSN chicago but the kicker is every single Chicago sports team is blacked out because Niles is the property of Detroit according to the NHL, NBA, and MLB. The only logical people are the NLF where he gets Bears games on the local Fox station. MLBEI won't be of any use to him b/c he's in Cubs territory too according to MLB.

It's maddening.

When I'm working will be nice, but I also don't get CSN+, so that's a fair few games I can't otherwise watch. And like last year I'm sure I'll be wanting to follow other teams' games too.

I live in STL, but I cannot get Comcast on my Dish Network. I just got off the phone w/ them to see about adding it, and they said that I'm already supposed to be getting it, and that there's no blackout. They couldn't tell me why I didn't get it. Anyone have the scoop? :banghead:
