Just a heads up, it looks like their programming is either mixed up or way off-schedule right now. They are currently showing a 1997 Mariners/White Sox game where Randy strikes out 19 which is supposed to air at 11 central. They're supposed to replay it tomorrow early morning as well; hopefully it will go as scheduled at 6e/5c though.

A Rod, Griffey, Martinez, and Buhner must have been one hell of a gauntlet for a pitcher to go through.

This is great. Henry Rodriguez, Brant Brown, Jeff Blauser, empty seats.

One thing I've noticed watching this already is that Chippy keeps saying "we" when he refers to the Cubs. I don't remember that about him, but then, I didn't pay as much attention to the announcers as I do now. And besides, it was his first year with the team. It's not like he'd been part of the "we" for 20 years.

EDIT: LMAO, Kevin Orie.

We did not have a very good team.

LOL, it's funny because that is the team that made me fall in love with the Cubs. Looking back at that roster, they shouldn't have been a playoff team.

PS: Henry Rodriguez was my favorite player and I used to emulate his stance when I hit.

My favorite Chip calls was in the 2nd inning. The first batter is left-handed. Two batters later is Dave Clark, to which Chip says "Here's a different test for Wood... a Left-Handed batter!" LOL

How did Woody handle it??

That game was a lot of fun to watch. I used to watch White Sox games a lot in that era. I wouldn't say I was a fan, but as a 13 year old, I couldn't help but watch any sort of baseball that came on my TV. Plus I was a big Frank Thomas fan.

Anyways, it was a lot of fun to see a lot of faces that I grew up with, Buhner, Cora, Griffey, Ozzie, Belle, Thomas, etc. It was also cool seeing the old WGN graphics. It's funny they havent used those graphics in like 10 years, and it still felt like only yesterday.

I am loving the MLB Network.

Why is Chip giving so many updates from the Brewers/Padres game? I can't see it having that much significance in May.

It was probably the only other game going on at the time.

I think that between Woody and Sammy, a lot of Cub fans were born in that ERA.

True, I also converted my White Sox fan friend into a Cub fan with me. (I was mostly a Yankee fan but really just liked baseball)

I haven't watched the Wood game yet but I will never forget Bagwell's expression when he Ks on a slurve. He looks like he pretty much just gives up.

I watched the 1996 Mariners/A's game earlier - that was kind of fun. Edgar looks young.
