What does anyone know about this lineman from Ball St. the Cowboys drafted? This pick seems like a major reach.

From Yahoo:

Analysis: Brewster is a bit of a reach here, but he is athletic and can play either tackle or guard. The Cowboys needed to add more youth to their offensive line and Brewster has the ability to fill a variety of roles.

From DraftCountdown.com:

15th ranked T

Strengths:

Adequate height...Great bulk...Long arms...Very athletic...Quick with nimble feet...Understands leverage, positioning and angles...Terrific mobility...Natural knee bender...Active and super aggressive...Offers some versatility...Incredibly tough...Durable...Has tons of experience.

Weaknesses:

' Tweener?...Needs to get stronger...Is not real stout at the point of attack...Doesn't get a great push in the run game...Could use his hands better...Played out of a 2-point stance...Had some conditioning issues.

I would like to see the Bears go against the surf and trade up to get Johnson.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe the 99th pick and our last 5th rounder or our 6th rounder?

I have no idea what it would take, they have a value system for each pick and I have no idea how much that changes once the draft gets going.

He's prob. the best player avail for a significant position of need and there's a huge drop-off in FS after him. The only other option would be to go after a CB and shift Vasher to FS.

Derek Pegues sounds like someone the Bears would go with in the 4th. FS/CB tweener in a Cover 2 system, has return ability.

Hopefully Anderson falls. I like Gilbert.

I did like Tate and Wallace, didn't care for Williams as much. Oh well.

FYI, the 99th pick can't be traded because it is a comp pick. It would take the 1st 4th and a 5th to move up in the 3rd. Be well worth it, IMO.
