I bet the three AFC teams are pissed that they have to play real playoff games next week while the Philly/Giants winner gets a bye.

Or something like that

There's not much that's more entertaining in football then when a defensive tackle starts running with the football.

I don't know that I have ever watched a game with as many lead changes, being so close throughout, be so completely terrible.

Seriously.

I really can't believe we're 15 minutes away from the Arizona Cardinals hosting the NFC Championship Game.

I really can't believe I picked the Giants to win this game when I knew the Eagles would pull it out. Oh well, my beat the streak is going back to zero.

i was going to say that this is the most exciting boring game i've ever watched.

I don't know why, but for some reason all games between NFC East teams bore the hell out of me. Theres really no reason why...they are all traditional teams, they are all pretty good, and they all have great rivalries with each other. Maybe its just because they seem to be on TV every weekend.

Donovan McNabb is about to play in his 5th conference title game, which unless I'm much mistaken is more than any active quarterback, including Brett Favre (who's played in four to my recollection) and Peyton Manning (I believe three).

Manning has only played two.

I think Brady has 5.

I had mine up to 9 last night going for 10 before Stanford blew a 13 point lead and lost in the final minute by 1 to Wazzou. That was disheartening.

On a lighter note, I'm somehow 7-0 in my playoff picks so far. Only a complete idiot could be 7-0 right now so I'm not really taking this as too much of an accomplishment.

The overturned Scaife catch that led to Bironas missing the FG was awful as well - he probably didn't get his right foot down, but I couldn't tell for sure. It was not conclusive enough to overturn it.

I can tell you that this call was correct dew. He had gotten his right foot down to start, but he was bobbling the ball. By the time he caught it, his right foot clearly came down out of bounds. One angle showed it quite conclusively. My guess is that they didn't show that angle at the stadium.

I'm sorry that you had your first Titans game experience go that way. I'm glad you had a good time anyway.

If there was an angle that showed that conclusively, they certainly didn't show it in the stadium. I've seen far too much recently referees ignoring the "conclusive" part of the replay rule, and this appeared to be another one.

And it was an awesome time. I'm definitely planning on heading back for a game or two next year (and hopefully a playoff game or two as well).

Thanks for the condolences, fellas.

First off, the atmosphere in the Coliseum was truly awesome. The place was sold out for the 104th consecutive time and I wouldn't be in any way shocked if there was a full attendance - despite it raining almost non-stop all day, flurrying during the game and the low being 32. I would compare the atmosphere very favorably to what I saw in the RCA Dome last year in the Colts/Pats game. The dome was probably a little louder, but only because it was covered.

As for the game, the Titans were very clearly the best team on the field - but the Ravens deserved to win that game. The Titans outplayed the Ravens in every way possible (physically), but nearly 100 yards in penalties and three turnovers (resulting in at least 9 points left on the table) will kill you in a game of field position.

The missed delay of game call was horrific and costly. There is no excuse for a ref to miss that. The play clock was sitting on 0 for 2-3 seconds before Flacco snapped that ball, it was horrible. And the fact that you can't challenge that is utterly asinine. Even still, that penalty (and every questionable call going against us) didn't hurt us as much as the dumb play by the Titans did. The overturned Scaife catch that led to Bironas missing the FG was awful as well - he probably didn't get his right foot down, but I couldn't tell for sure. It was not conclusive enough to overturn it.

Sadly, this game exploited everything I was worried about this team throughout the year. We desperately need another playmaker on offense. When CJ was out, there was nobody who could step up and make a play - forcing the offense to drive 10-15 plays to score and they predictably committed some penalties in all those plays. I don't care if he's a WR, RB, TE, QB, FB, or what - we just need someone who can make a big play when it's needed.

It was a great season all around and the game was extremely competitive to the end, but every break went against us - exactly what I was worried about heading into the playoffs.

That was completely botched, and its not like he snapped at right after either. It was simply missed, and missed like you said 2-3 seconds after the clock ran out. If not for Tennessee crapping out the turnovers, and giving the game away this would be all we are hearing about.

Yeah, it definitely would have been more talked about had we not crapped the game away all night. However, had we not crapped the game away all night, we would have won comfortably. :banghead:

The Eagles are going to be in the Super Bowl (at least I think so) and they wouldn't have made the playoffs if the Bucs hadn't collapsed at the end of the year and lost to the stinking Raiders at home on the final day.

We're possibly 60 minutes away from having the 4 and 6 seeds playing in both of the conference Championship games.

Spot on. It just hurts. We need to actually have a good draft this year.

I actually think the draft has turned out well - better, certainly, than I thought it would at the time. CJ has turned out to be great, Willie Mays Hayes and Jason Jones made good impacts on the line and Lavelle Hawkins showed some potential.

In this draft, though, we need at least one more offensive playmaker. I don't expect an offensive player in the first round, though. I'm expecting either Nick Harper's (eventual) replacement or if Albert leaves, another DT to go along with Tony Brown and Jason Jones.

I'm rooting for the Eagles to get utterly demolished next week so that, by some very, very slim random chance, the Eagles will cut McNabb and the Titans will sign him.

Not happening, but I can always hope.
