Matt Bowen of the National Football Post lists the Bears as possible destinations for Marvin Harrison and Mike Brown.

Thought that news might be of interest.

I don't think Marvin is a fit with this team.

I think he'd be a nice veteran to have if one of Bennett/Iglesias take a little while to perform well. That said, his best days are behind him.

I just don't see it working out. He's played his entire career in the dome and his sort of aloofness worked with that team's structure. But the Bears are looking to establish an offense, and develop receivers. Marvin isn't going to be the type that helps the young guys. I feel like it will take a lot to convince him to play in Chicago, and that would be a poor use of cap space. They already had to overpay Pace.

Had Orton remained at QB, perhaps he'd work as somebody to help him, but I'd rather Cutler just gain some sort of connection with the younger guys that are going to be the difference between this offense working or not.

That's a valid argument. Bringing in Harrison would be a "win-now" move more than a move to help develop the young guys. The question teams are struggling with right now is whether he has enough left to truly help teams win now.

Seemed like Harrison wasn't running all that well, and that was on turf.

Can he even gain separation -- on grass -- in the snow?

Seems like a poor fit, but what do I know.

As a Bears fan, would it be worth it to put up with Favre-Mania for a couple more months and have him go to Minnesota and ruin their season?

The Vikings are already the fav to win the divison. So by upgrading at QB they would be ruining their season? Hmm...

Is he really an upgrade if he still doesn't get that he's lost it and throws a bunch of picks?

Brett Favre lost it?

Have you seen Favaruh's stats?

The Vikings are the favorites to win the division?

Who do you think are?

They beat the Bears by 1 game last year and the Bears added one of the best QBs in the league.

They did add one of the best QB's in the league, not gonna argue that.

However, did the Bears somehow develop a WR that im missing (Yes Cutler will make the WR look better).

Did the Bears defense somehow get younger when I wasn't looking?

Ok I thought about it, and Cutler is a good QB. But im not ready to call him one of the best in the league yet.

Yes, he is in development. Hester is going into his 3rd year as a receiver. Basically the hallmark for WR transition, whether its position change or coming out of the draft. Cutler will make him dangerously close to a bonafide #1, and that will be plenty. And that's to mention there's not talent there that doesn't come out when a team has crap at QB. Bennett and Iglesias both should contribute, and Olsen is very talented at being a pass catching TE. Cutler by himself will make all the receivers on the team take a rather large step forward.

Well they just drafted 10 very young guys, that tends to help. And how old is the new QB? Not to mention age is a more considerable factor when it comes to long term outlook and success. Coaching is the main importance in a formidable team, and the Bears upgraded in that area.

The running game is solid with one of the best backs in the league. And they upgraded the OL significantly. Are they a surefire bet for the division champs? No. But that's who I would put my money on. It's not wise to underestimate a Pro Bowl QB entering the division. This Bears team will be unlike any we have seen in a very long time.

He's probably top 10-15 in the league and is only going to get better - he's 25, keep in mind.

Trust me I know. And I agree. He will probably become a Top 3 QB in the league but he is not there yet.

But he is top 10-15 right now and that kind of an improvement at QB from a team that finished just a game back of the Vikings is pretty major.

You have two teams who were virtually even last year, one made a significant improvement at a position and one basically stayed the same. The one that made the significant improvement is likely the favorite to win the division.

Quite a few years ago, actually, and Packers fans didn't notice as his receivers bailed him out.

Before he got hurt last year he had a COMP percent of 70. He had 20 tds and his team was 8-3, but im sure his WR bailed him out on that as well.

I personall think the Packers could be favorites for the division, but I can understand it not being the consensus pick.

My biggest question about the Packers is how quickly will they adjust to running the 3-4? It's a pretty major change and could result in some early struggles.
