Man I can't stop thinking about this game, I am pumped for it.

I have already braced myself for the fact that the Bears odds of ending the day in a playoff spot aren't great, but just for this team to be alive for a playoff spot with the last week of the season, this is what sports is all about. It's just unbelievable to me that this Bears team that I had going 4-12 in August is a win away from a 10-6 season. I know the Bears probably aren't as good as their record, but I will not let that make me enjoy the season any less.

What's everyone doing for the game?

I'm going to the bar. I'll be there early to claim a seat where I can have the Vikings and Bears game side by side, while also peaking over at some of the other meaningful games on the other tv's.

Go Giants!

A friend of mine has the DirecTV package, and he also happens to be a Houston fan. I'll be over there, praying that either the Bears or the Vikings win. If both the Giants and the Texans win, he is going to be absolutely insufferable for the entirety of the next twelve months. (He still doesn't let me forget about the Stros sweeping the Cubs in August, despite the much obvious bigger picture, simply because he and I happened to catch a couple of those games together.) Here's hoping for something good. Have fun today everyone!

My flight to the Alamo Bowl doesn't leave until 3:45 this afternoon, so I'll be able to listen to the first quarter or two on the radio and hopefully catch the rest of it on TV at O'Hare. Should be a fun time.

Inactives:

Bears declared WR Devin Aromashodu, third QB Caleb Hanie, CB Marcus Hamilton, RB Kevin Jones, G Terrence Metcalf, DT Matt Toeaina, LB Hunter Hillenmeyer, and DE Ervin Baldwin inactive for Week 17.

Matt Forte was not on the injury report this week and will start against Houston. Adrian Peterson will be his clear backup due to Jones' inactivity.

Apparently the roof is open at Reliant Stadium and it was raining just a little while ago. Reliant Stadium supposedly has a very poor drainage system, so there is a chance that the conditions on the field will be sloppy. That would obviously be a good thing for the Bears.
