Good move for Kenny Williams if Bailey can even give them 5 years of middle relief for no money. Sox probably aren't going to be very good next year anyway, so why not sell high on a 35 year old outfielder that won't be around after next year anyway?

 

Ballsy, but I like the move for the White Sox. Maybe the Reds can flip Dye at the trade deadline for something better than Homer Bailey? Especially if he puts up some inflated numbers at GABP in the first half.

A source told the Dayton Daily News that the White Sox and Reds have completed a swap involving Jermaine Dye and Homer Bailey.

Color us skeptical for now. The Dye-for-Bailey rumors have been going around for some time now, but no one seemed to think the deal was getting done. As lost as Bailey is right now, it'd still be a bad idea for the Reds to part with him for a one-year solution in right field. They'd be spending a good portion of their available funds on a mediocre defense corner outfielder who has averaged fewer RBI per at-bat than Adam Dunn over the course of his career. where did i say i'm writing him off. i'm saying that his value has taken a huge hit over the last year or 2. you can't deny that. he's still a good prospect... just not what he was.
