i think vance recently discovered all the smileys and is just randomly posting them in various threads.

I think he got bopped in the head one too many times by the fake boobs of some Hooter's chick and has completely lost it.

I'm guessing he found a pic of a cheerleader he didn't like and it made him crazy.

More Tennessee coaching news, which will also affect at least Ok State, and possibly Auburn, Miami, and/or Florida...

Now caution, again. This is from a very close friend of Trooper who has kept in contact with Trooper since he left UT and is a good friend who I trust absolutely.

Trooper Taylor will NOT be at UT.

Trooper Taylor has not, repeat not, ever interviewed with UT; UT did request a copy of the Trooper-Okla State contract.

Trooper has interviewed or will interview at:

a.Miami

b.Auburn

c.Florida

Trooper feels that Florida's Gonzalez will come to UT.

This UT influential individual did not know of anything official as regarding Rodney Garner.

Phillip Fulmer has told this individual that Trooper " can not hold Rodney's jock strap regarding recruiting", that Rodney is that much more effective in recruiting than Trooper.

Please, just passing on conversation from someone who knows!

This is from Roy Adams. TIFWIW.

Rodney Garner to UT is a done deal. It should be announced publicly in the next 48 hours.

Tennessee now has one of the best- if not the best- recruiting staffs in the country. Again, now they will have to deliver and coach up recruits, but this is a nice step forward following the disaster of the previous 4 years.

Lane Kiffin has done exactly what he said he'd do in his first press conference.

Does that mean no Trooper, or is that still up in the air?

Well, that answers my previous question.

I like the sound of Billy Gonzalez to UT, but I hate the idea of Trooper going to Florida.

IF all this happens, the staff is going to look like this, I'm guessing:

Chaney (OC/OL)

Reaves (QB's)

Drayton (RB's)

Gonzalez (WR's/Passing Game Coordinator)

Garner (TE's/Running Game Coordinator)

Kiffin (DC)

Orgeron (DL/Asst Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator)

Cregg (LB's)

? (DB's)

I thought I heard Monte was going to coach DBs? And is Drayton confirmed to return, or are you speculating on him? I'd say unless we get Gran then Drayton should return, since Trooper's not coming back.

My main thought on the Ole Miss score was that it probably could have been a lot worse. Ole Piss missed a field goal, had a fumble on the 1 yard line about to score, and got zero points on the punt return when Green stepped out of bounds like a fool on the five. On the other hand, the rebs got reallly damn lucky that Harrell didnt score on that sneak before the half. I knew the rebs were alright, but i'm very, very stunned. I assume they'll be ranked between 20-15 preseason next year.

They are losing some key players, however. If Greg Hardy decides to go pro, they'll likely have three first round picks in Michael Oher, Peria Jerry, and Hardy.

Neither Monte nor Lane will coach a specific position. There will be a DB's coach hired, unless a stellar LB coach is available, and in that case, I'd look for Cregg to coach DB's, and that coach to be hired. Monte will spend most of his time with the DB's and LB's.

Drayton is speculation, and Gran could just as easily be the guy. I believe that if Gonzalez is not hired, taht Gran and Drayton will both be on staff. Both have coached WR's before. If Gonzalez does come, I think he will have Special Teams under his responsibilities.

Ok, not sure where I heard that about Monte. I tend to prefer coordinators and the head coach not really handling a specific position anyway, so I like the news.

I'd be perfectly happy with any of those scenarios. I've heard Gran is a great special teams guy, so I'm hoping we bring him in. Got no problems with any of those guys, though.

Snead is looking pretty good heading into next season :-).

Havent seen this mentioned anywhere, but Illinois has hired TCU's OC as their own OC. Pretty good choice. Opens up a pipeline for recruiting to Texas, and TCU's offense was ranked 25th nationally this past year.

Just for you. You've gotta love cornerbacks dishing out great hits. Word is, despite the top LB recruiting class in the country, Major Wright might actually replace Spikes in the linebacker scheme next year. He'll have to tack on a good twenty or more pounds I would think to make that jump to outside, much less inside linebacker. Though he might be our best hitter.

Isn't that the play that Crompton popped right back up on? I remember there was some massive hit he took from a Florida defender where he popped right back up and started talking trash.
