How much you think KRod, Putz & Fuentes will get?

Putz will get what he's due to be paid in 2009 ($5 mil), most likely, since he's not a free agent.

Yeah, I don't know why I wrote Putz. I was thinking Hoffman. Sorry.

As the Cubs talk to SD about Peavy, I wish would they mention the name of Scott Hairston as well, who appears to be the odd man out in SD with Headley in LF, Giles in RF, and Gerut/Venables in CF.

Hairston would be a nice fit as the starting CF'er or a platoon partner in RF.

ive always liked scott hairston. he can also play 2b in a pinch if needed. hes arbitration eligible and ought to make a mil or two.
Does Hendry know this? We can always use a 5th guy who can play 2nd.

thats the first thing hendry looks at when he's deciding whether or not to go after a guy.

believe me, hendrys already looked at all of jake peavy's high school game films to see if he can play 2b

Actually in that thread most of GRB's best posters defended you.

Look what it got me. I wonder how that conversation would go today... after Pie's first PCL run was a lot better than Rasmus'

The same, if not worse.

.283/.341/.451/.792

.251/.346/.396/.742

I'm not aruging who will be better (Though, I'm pretty certain it will be Rasmus based off their skill sets, and scouting reports) I'm just saying if he posed the questions/argument again at GRB the responses/results would be the same if not more against Pie based off how bad Pie has been in the majors so far.

Take into account Rasmus was hurt most of the season, and in June he hit .333 .441 .535 in 118 plate appearances right before he was sidelined.

It seems like the worse Pie hits, the better his defense gets on this board.

You're not invited to my birthday party.

Getting Hermida would make my offseason w/Scott being a close second. Cubs have good trade history w/Florida but a trade w/the O's is much harder for obvious reasons.
