I think Santa is stupid. When I have a kid and he is old enough to understand, I'm going to tell him that some kids at school believe in a fictional character named santa and not to believe them.

Well, I'm not planning on having kids, but if I do he's not going to believe in Santa.

it's cute that a 16 year old thinks he has his future figured out

I wouldn't call "not planning on having kids" planning out my future. Unless I accidently knock up a chick, which I doubt is going to happen.

Telling your 3 year old that Santa doesn't exist is about a 1/4 step below beating them with a hose.

But if you don't tell your kid that santa exists in the first place, they can't have their beliefs crushed. However, I now he would learn of santa at school, which is why I'd tell him somethink along the lines of "Most kids at school believe in a man who brings you presents at Christmas. That's ridiculous, don't believe them."

Most hilarity would ensue when my kid would tell those kids santa doesn't exist and I get angry calls from parents and teachers.

you'll be telling them tons of lies. believe me

I'm sure there will be times when I need to but Santa is one I need to do. I knew from an early age that he was real and when people would say that he was at school (teachers and the such) I would say no he isn't and I would get in trouble for it. EXCUSE ME! I'm getting in trouble because I know the teacher is lying? That is bull----. Teachers shouldn't be talking about Santa and saying he is real anyways. That is not there place.

you're definitely going to be a terrible parent. right away you want to make your child an outcast. seriously, i have never heard of a kid growing up and having issues because his parents lied and told him there was a santa claus. i'm not a christian but i'll still let my kids enjoy one of the best things aobut childhood.

anyways, is christmas really even correlated to christianity these days? it's all about family/friends, cool lights/decorations, and getting free stuff. kids don't care about where christmas actually originated, they care about having fun and looking forward to it every year. you need to be smart enough to realize that the holidays don't have to be about religion.

There are some comics that feature that cat and dog.

Here's one. Definitely one of the greatest webcomics out there.

awesome ignorance here ... I will be a terrible parent because I won't lie to my kids and let them believe a total farce.

And yes Christmas is still about religion. It was created to make it easier for pagans (mainly Roman) to convert by the Pope. The holiday is built by religion and is very much a farce itself as very few actually celebrate it for its intended purposes. I grew up in a religion that taught the values of all religions and that we all pray to the same God. I will teach my kids about all religions and will celebrate holidays from many of them but Christmas will not be among them because it has lost most of its meaning and was created for the wrong reasons.

why the hell would you want to take away a kids' enjoyment of santa claus? that's just evil.
