the problem with those articles is that the rust belt has just as many poor african americans, only the state's income is higher because of rich fat whites. in reality, the northern and southern schools are recruiting from a same racial base with respect to the one OMC was highlighting. It should also be of note that the southern schools also face competition from the acc for recruits in key states like georgia, florida and the carolinas. because of all the competition for elite recruits i think its more difficult to establish a long-term dynasty in the south nowadays than it would be at say Texas or USC or Ohio State.

While UF may appear to be on the verge of a dynasty, look how quickly FSU and Miami crumbled.

not to mention that the Big 10 and a bunch of the Pac 10 schools have higher academic standards, meaning kids from bad school systems have less chance to qualify for the athletic scholarships

Florida - 41

Alabama - 20

Oklahoma - 34

Missouri - 41

I'm a Mizzou fan and want to see an upset. Florida is better than Alabama in every facet of the game. Mizzou could win a shootout.

But I honestly think OU should win by at least 14

he should have encouraged his defense to play better

The Legend of Tim Tebow.

It was a sweet glistening night under the Friday Night Lights. It was in the December of 2005, the Year of USC Dynasty, or so it seemed. Tim Tebow's McNeese high school was in a dogfight for Florida High School football supremacy. McNeese had gotten gashed on run defense all night long, but the left arm of the record setting Tim Tebow had led them to a seven point lead. The lead, however, had dwindled late in the fourth quarter. Tebow was only months away from getting a free college education at the university of his choice, but that was not on his mind. Taking matter into his own hands, Saint Tebow checked himself into the game as nose tackle. His coaches did not know. His coaches need not know. Saint Tebow played the rest of the game as the nose tackle - and the running game was stopped and McNeese didn't give up another touchdown.

Tomorrow's Florida and Alabama game has some other Legend of Saint Tebow stuff attached.

T'was the Autumn of 2005. Hoover High of Alabama was supposed to be one of the best high school football teams ever assembled. They had a standout quarterback, a star receiver and studs across the roster. They even had a TV contract on MTV's Two-A-Days. In a game televised by ESPN, they played McNeese High School of Florida. McNeese had none of those, instead they had Tim Tebow. In a game witnessed by Hoover alum and current Crimson Tide John Parker Wilson, Tim Tebow showed the nation what he could do as McNeese upset and routed Hoover 50-29 by a sensational performance by Saint Tebow.

I'm definitely rooting for Alabama now.

It was a hot, sweaty afternoon in Austin, Texas. Meph, President of the Tim Tebow fan club, was wearing his Florida Gator jorts (and little else) as he viewed his idol dismantle the mighty Citadel. With the game well in hand, Meph moved to his computer to update his Excel spreadsheets. With a smile on his face (and a hand in his pants), Meph entered Tebow's stats for the day. Oh yeah, just like that.

The weather outside may have been cold, but inside — more specifically, under the covers — it was broiling. Surrounded by self-drawn nude drawings of tim tebow, meph furiously jerked away. "Touchdown, Tebow," he said as he climaxed. He reached over to the orange and blue painted desk next to his bed and checked the box under a box labeled "came to tim." The column ran back more than two years, and to date every box had a check mark in it. Often there was more than one.

Meph slowly rolled out of bed, and wadded up the blue and orange sock and tossed it into the pile of clothes in the corner behind his door. Now he was master of the world, and he was not quite sure what to do next. But he would think of something.

But then reality set in. Saint Tebow led the Gators against a Red Tide to survive, but the Tebow sacrificed himself for the Gators. And Florida was passed over for the Title game. And just like that, he was gone.
