I don't think it's a horrible decision, even if I do think he's overrated by the likes of ESPN and the rest of the mainstream media. You could definitely make an argument for Youkilis, but at least Morneau didn't win. I'm half surprised the writers didn't go Rays-crazy and vote Longoria the MVP in his rookie year or something. It was just a really average year for the AL...it stinks that we'll have to hear about how Pedroia's a future Hall of Famer now that he's won the ROY and MVP in back to back years.

He had an argument, but Sizemore, Morneau, Mauer, Hamilton and Youkilis probably had better arguments.

Out of this group, only Sizemore really has an argument unless you completely discount position.

i definitely contend Mauer has a legitimate argument, leading the AL in WPA by a wide margin, playing C at a GG level

I dont think this is Jimmy Rollins bad. Part of the issue seems to be that if there is no clear cut winner like Pujols, the MVP should come from a playoff team. The AL playoff teams were not full of MVP candidates.

Of course I heard plenty of idiots saying things like Manny should have been MVP over Pujols because Manny got his team in the playoffs. Of course they completely miss the fact that the Cardinals had a better record than the Dodgers.
