WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It took you 1 minute.

That has to make them the favorite to win the National League next year.

Hopefully we can win the wild card.

I was never a huge fan, but it's nice to see a team taking him seriously and giving him a shot. Best of luck to him.

Just for you, SSR:

Mike (Milwaukee): The Brewers claimed third baseman Casey McGehee from the Cubs today. What's his ceiling? realistic expectations?

Jim Callis: (2:37 PM ET ) He's a fringe bench player who can catch a little. I doubt he'll have much impact on the Brewers.

SSR's reaction when McGehee hits a game-winning PH HR off the Cubs will be priceless.

So can someone explain to me why we put him on the roster September 1st knowing all along he would be released/placed on waivers at the end of the year??

Wouldn't have that roster spot been better used for keeping a to be free agent like Scales, or Craig, or Kroeger (who happens to be a LH hitting Right Fielder)?

It's not like McGehee put up good or even average numbers or had any impact in his brief call up.

Because they probably have other guys in the system they would prefer to use the 40 man roster spot on to protect in the offseason but who weren't deemed ready to come up in September. Also, I have read numerous places that McGahee had one of the better attitudes and work ethics in the system so perhaps they wanted to reward him for that with a cup of coffee.

They can still add one of those guys up until minor league free agency begins(which may or may not be the same day as major league free agency.) They probably won't, but McGehee isn't the reason why. It's because Matt Craig murdered Jim Hendry's dog, Josh Kroeger slept with his daughter and Bobby Scales sucks.

Well I'm not quite sure Bobby Scales sucks...but you might be onto something with the first two reasons regarding Craig and Kroeger.
