Not to depress anyone, but man can you imagine if this were the Cubs and we were in the same situation as the Phillies? Just waiting waiting waiting.

Yep people would be talking about how will the Cubs blow a 3-1 lead in the World Series.

I wouldn't be able to focus on anything else.

According to the scoreboard page on MLB.com:

Suspended: Rain (Completion on 10/28/08 at 3:33 AM ET)

That can't be right, can it? They're starting it at 3:33 am? huh?

Haha!

Bud, "Meet back here at 3:33 AM and we'll pick up where we left off. Sound good?"

On a side note, I better not hear anybody say that we need to have a neutral southern site or a domed neutral site for the WS. I only mention it because I just read an article about the 1997 WS where people apparently thought it would be a good idea b/c of the conditions in Cleveland (which were almost identical to the Philadelphia conditions tonight).

No way that's anything but a placeholder time.

Why does it seem like the MLB always gets itself into these wacky scenarios?

Give MLB a wacky 1980's style theme song you have the next Disney Channel sitcom.

Obviously in regular season games this is the protocal, but would they have awarded the Phillies the win if they had the lead?

Selig said no. The game would have been delayed until they could play again.

Now they're saying the game won't be played until tomorrow.

This actually helps the Phillies. Assuming it goes that long, the Phillies could now bring Hamels back on three days rest in Game 7 on Friday.

man pena really saved selig last night.

not really... both teams, the umpires and mlb management all agreed that the game would be played a minimum of 9 innings. i'm sure there would be a few phillie fans grumbling, but that's what everyone agreed to. pretty much everyone i talked to at work last night (lots of phillie fans there) thought that the game should be played to completion no matter what.

i think they should have played tonight, even though it's cold and windy, but the extra day does mean that hamels would start game seven, if it comes to that. personally i'm hoping the phillies score 15 runs in the bottom of the sixth tomorrow and take all the drama out of it.

Anyone still interested in this series?

At this point, I've had a change of heart. I kinda want to see the Rays come back and take this series. Since I am *still* feeling some amount of pain from the Cubs failure, I kinda want another team's fan base to feel pain. Although nowhere near as bad as Cubs fans, the Phillies probably have the second most amount of misery of any fan base. They also have collectively a similar mentality towards sports as Chicago fans do. Blowing a 3-1 lead after these hijinks and several days to mentally prepare their victory parade would be high comedy to me.

Sorry any Phils fans that might be lurking and for some reason reading this thread. Nothing personal.

Does David Price have cooties or what? Why won't the Rays pitch him?

ROCCO! Good for him.
